Challenge #12 - Anything Goes

Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge Blog is having Challenge #12 - Anything Goes.  These are my favorite! :) Love me them "anything goes" challenges!

I have one of these adorable BestiesTM to play with! It's nameless but you can find it under Img765 at Scrapbook Stamp Society.

Here is my card:
Everything I used to put this card together is from my stash. The flower embellishment is a flower rubber stamp wet embossed on parchment paper. haha... I thought it was vellum! :-\ Silly mistake on my part! :( I punched out the flower a scalloped circle punch and then dabbed Stickles in Baby Blue all along the edges. I also added Stickles to the large flower on her hat. I added the adhesive behind the flower so it would not show through.

Her hat and coat remind me of a tan hat and sweater I wore all through fall and winter during my tenth grade in high school! :-\ I thought I was pretty hip looking at the time too! lol

I kept the card pretty simple. I tend to want to do that because I feel, after I've colored the image with my wonderful Copic markers, they should be the center of attention! :) I also meant for the flower punch to be a focal embellishment.

Don't forget to join us for the challenge! We'd LOVE to see what you come up with during this Anything Goes Challenge! :)

Thanks for stopping by! :)

BESTIES OF OZ $100 CASH PRIZE CHALLENGE!!

Sorry! Didn't mean to scream but isn't a cash prize something we SHOULD scream about!?! It is in my book!

No, that's not a typo... Sherri Baldy is offering a $100 Cash Prize for her Besties of Oz Challenge. Gosh! I almost screamed again! lol ;) There's actually FIVE prizes but needless to say... I want the CASH PRIZE! Sorry! There I go screaming again! :(

Not only are there five prizes being offered, there are the cutest images to play with! I had the hardest time picking out three! But there's a bunch to pick from and you can find them all here.

I haven't checked to see how many times we're allowed to enter but I've been hankering for a Halloween card so I used Not So Wicked Wendy for my card. I had a blast with the card! Let me show you!

Here's my card:
Isn't she fabulous?!? Yes she is! lol ;) All supplies are from my stash. The spiders are from a Martha Stewart spider punch someone sent me in a secret sister swap. I dusted black flock on them to make them look real, hairy and scary. I also added two black beads to give them beady eyes. lol ;) Isn't she brave? Standing there so still like if there aren't two spiders creeping up on her! ;) lol I had the hardest time making her skin look even but then I remembered she's a witch and witches shouldn't have even skin tones. :) lol I colored the image with my Copic markers, of course! ;) Three of the flowers are a gift from my friend, Maria and I made the other four. I added Stickles in Yellow and Diamonds to make them shimmer.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you like my card. :) Come join the challenge if you get a chance. There are some fabulous entries to admire if you're not up for the challenge. :)

Carpenter Jane

Good morning blogging world! :) I've been a busy beaver this morning and let me tell you why.

I've been attending crops with my new friend, Maria. She opened up a new world to me! I've always wanted to attend one but had not ever been afforded the opportunity. Had she not found me, I'd still be living under a rock!

First time we went to a crop, I did not know what to expect so I took only my beloved Copic markers and a heap of images to color... and color I did! It was a ten hour crop! :) I still get giddy remembering the day! lol

Since then, I've got four notches total for "official" crops. I've been to Maria's house once to crop and she's been to my house once to crop... these are not official... just two pals hanging out playing with paper. ;) lol

Let me tell you... I've learned to pack for a crop! :) I'm just so pleased with myself! lol I say this because in the past, I'd take everything but the kitchen sink, as the saying goes. Second crop, I forgot my card bases. Third crop, I forgot some embellishments, chalks and specific paper I planned to use. Last night was my fourth crop and... I got it right on the money! :) At first, I couldn't find my colored images so a brief moment of panic set in while I looked, but eventually I found them in one of the FOUR bags I carried with me. I left my Copic markers behind and I felt naked without them, but as I wrote when I first started... I have LOTS of colored images prepared. :)

Last night was ALL about putting my colored images to paper... and mind you... I've got way more images to put to paper! So I did put three images to card bases I've been wanting to play with for a couple of weeks. I've shown two of them already and I'll have to admit... I wasn't very fair about it either. I kinda whipped through them so I could get to this one because I was just so darned pleased with how this card came out.

I've been spending time of late making masculine cards and NOT being afraid. :) NOT an easy feat by the way! I may as well be flying through the air like a trapeze artist without a net! Yes! That's how frightening and challenging it is for me... but as with any challenges in life, I grabbed on to it and FORCED myself to become comfortable with it. I think I can say that day has come. :)

One thing I like about making masculine cards, I feel I can add lots and lots of texture... and I have to admit... I go heavy with the metal embellishments. :) Yay! Finally using that long hoarded stash!

So here's Carpenter Jane from Tiddly Inks. They are having a Design Team Call. I've pulled on my big girl panties, am jumping in with both feet and submitting my card for the call. My long-time friends from Facebook encouraged me to apply. One of them, Terry from Oklahoma, threatened to waddle down here to Texas and smack me if I didn't try. :-\ I almost didn't just so I could see that! lol I wouldda HAD to take pictures and share these with you! :-D lol

So here's my card:
All supplies are from my stash. I'm afraid I've been a hoarder for a wicked long time. :( I'm determined to use all my stash before end of year! I. Mean. That! :) The paper is newer. I received that at my very first crop! I was so gosh darn excited to learn, not only did I get to hang out with other lovely ladies playing with paper... I could also receive free product if a slip of paper with my name on it got picked from a bucket! Can you believe it? I've not ever felt such a thrill when having my name called! lol

So the paper is from Moxxie Western Round Up collection and I colored the images with Copic markers but I already told you that! :) lol

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed reading about my new adventure of cropping and viewing this card because like I wrote earlier, I'm just so pleased with how it came out. I'd hate to think I was the only one! ;) lol

I hope you'll leave a comment so I'll know you were here! :)

From the Heart - July Stamp of the Month

This card is for the monthly challenge at Delightful Inspiration {from the heart}. Faith Skrdla will gift you a digital image for each month you participate in the challenge. Isn't that way generous of her?!? The challenge started in September and at the time, the first image was free. Imagine my disappointment when I discovered this in January. In order to receive the freebie, you must make a purchase and request the freebie of the month, and as long as you continue participating in the challenge, you'll receive a free digi each month. For the month of July, the freebie image is Painting Ladybug

Here is my card:
Isn't this a fun, happy image!?! I love it! All supplies are from my stash. The ladybug brad is from Raisin Boat. I colored the image with my beloved Copic markers. :)

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Birdie Brown - July Challenge

This fun summer image is the current freebie from Birdie Brown for the July challenge. Does it scream SUMMER or what? :)

Here is my card:
All supplies are from my stash. I added Pebbles, Inc. I'KAN DEE Pearlescent Jewel-tone chalks to the background card stock for some added visual interest. The water marks are stamped with a Raisin Boat clear stamp set called Splash. I dabbed these with Stickles in Baby Blue. As always, I colored the images with Copic markers. :)

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Birthday Sock Hop

It's that time of month! ;) It's the Progressive Monthly Challenge #3 at Paper Craft Planet! What did you think I was talking about? ;)

This image from Sassy Studio Designs is called Sock Hop Sweetie 2

Before I show you anything I've done, let me brag about my friend, Maria! She's GD at SSD for July / August 2013! I'm so excited and happy for her!

So let me give you a sneak peek to the buttons on the image's blouse.
They are so tiny, I wasn't sure you'd be able to see them with the blown up version of the card. I wanted them to appear like pearl buttons and I used Stickles Liquid Pearls in Petal Pink. I colored the entire image with Copic markers, of course! :)

Here's the card:
All of the supplies used are from my stash. I dabbed Stickles in Star Dust on the flowers. I used an HOTP Design Tool Kit #4 to cut out the shape on the image. The sentiment is from Raisin Boat's clear stamp set called Pick a Peck. I punched the corners of the tag with a Fiskars' Lace 3 in 1 Corner Punch to add some interest.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Scared Spitless!

For the longest time, I didn't know what that meant... I kinda got the idea during the movie "Jaws" when Richard Dreyfuss' character is unable to spit into his eye mask when he's about to enter into the water with the shark. Once I knew what it meant, I found I hadn't had that experience. Not to say I haven't had scary experiences... trust me... I've had PLENTY of scary moments during my life time... to name a few... a missed period... becoming a mother for the first time... purchasing my first brand new car... purchasing a home... but not scared spitless. Till... today...

I decided to fussy cut... right down the the very line! :-O Yes! Then... there are protruding lines on the image's spikes! :-O I was so scared of cutting one off. Especially... since I'd already spent time coloring and sparkling the image. I actually did end up cutting one off. It was right at the end. I guess I was feeling kinda cocky by then. :-\ But I fixed her up and I don't think you can see it. :)

I am participating in Simply Betty Stamps Facebook Fan Page Challenge. Each month, Generous Betty... who calls herself Betty QueenofHalloween Roberts, but I always think of her as Generous Betty... ;) ... gifts a digital image and as long as you make a card and participate in the challenge, you can continue receiving a new digital image each month. How awesome is that? I love it! Freebies that is! ;) lol I don't think the price of making a card to play along in a challenge is too much to ask for either. I'm surprised by how many people request the image each month. Not as surprised as how different a number there is in the amount of participants. :( I guess people take advantage in all corners of the world... including crafting world. I've always thought girls in the crafting world were a step above all others. Super kind, rule-following girls. Boy howdy! Have I been corrected on that front!! :(

So let me get off my high horse and show you my card. First a sneak peak:
I colored the image from Simply Betty Stamps with my Copic markers and used the colors black and blue on the hair! Doesn't it look awesome? Yes it does! ;) The middle spike is what I cut off by accident. Can't tell huh? :) You would not have known if I had not told you! :) Her eyes begged to be turquoise and I used Glossy Accents to make them shine. I also dabbed the entire image with Stickles in Star Dust and Baby Blue. This is Spika, the "bad" mermaid. I don't know... she looks more mad to me than bad. I figured it's cause she's been banned to the bottom of the sea. Don't you think that's where "bad" creatures live at? ;) I do! lol

Here's my card:
It's much darker in real life. I used a pale blue card stock and then streaked darker shades of blue chalks with my Pebbles Inc. I'KAN DEE Chalk Set. I tried photographing the card at different angles but this is the darkest I could photograph the card. :-\ Don't you just hate it when your camera won't cooperate? Especially when it's a phone camera! ;) lol I. Need. To. Buy. A. Camera! That's all there is to it. :-\ All supplies are from my stash. The sentiment comes with the image.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm off to get another card done. Today's the day for getting challenge cards done. So I'll be back later today... that's the plan anyway. :)

I used a Karen Sheltrown image called Rooster. I love country life! Makes me wish I lived on a farm! But then I think about the work involved... and I realize... I'm pretty happy being a city girl. ;) lol

For this card, all supplies used are from my stash. I used a Spellbinders' Classic Scalloped Circles SM die to cut out the image. I colored the image with Copic markers.

Slick Ozzie Goes...

...back to school. You can read all about it here but you won't be able to see the card because the picture is nowhere to be found. That's ok! I've put it on here so you can see it! I've used a Sherri Baldy BestiesTM image called Slick Ozzie

Here's the card:

SOS

We all have one of those days or a friend who we can call for an SOS. This image made me think of such a friend and I couldn't think of anything else! :)

This is for the Progressive Monthly Challenge at Paper Craft Planet by Sassy Studio Designs (SSD). The image is Sailor Honey and the third freebie in the current challenge! You read that right! Three freebies this month. You can see the first card here, second card here and this is the final card in the series. Gotta love me some SSD! :)

So here is the current card:
All supplies are from my stash. I used a Darice Beach wave embossing folder to create a sea of waves in the background. I then cut out an SOS "flag" and "shark fins" from card stock. I smooched the "flag" to give it a weathered look. Then I used twine on the flag and cording coming out from behind Sailor Honey because she's either being hoisted up to be helped or hoisted down to help! Isn't that clever?!? I started to stamp SOS or "I can help" as the sentiment but decided best to leave it blank and put the sentiment inside. It works for me! :) I colored the image with Copic markers, of course! :)

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Air Force Honey

This is the second image I received from Sassy Studio Designs, called Little Honey Air Force for their Progressive Monthly Challenge #2 at Paper Craft Planet. I mentioned in yesterday's post, they are giving THREE images this month! I posted my finished card with the first image last night and received the second image today. I'm on a roll! ;) After posting this finished card, I'll email and request the third image. I'm trying my best to make it. Challenge ends on July 14th! :-\ I'm cutting it pretty close!!

Here is the card:

I colored the image with Copic markers. All card stock, twine, stars and white flowers are from my stash. I made the red flower and will be posting a tutorial sometime within the next two weeks. It's not anything new or different from what I've seen other gals do but I took some shortcuts and I'd like to share these with you. :) I dabbed Stickles in Frosted Lace on the red flower and Diamonds on the white flowers to add shimmer.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Little Honey Army

This image, called Little Honey Army, is from Sassy Studio Designs and it's for their Progressive Monthly Challenge #2 at Paper Craft Planet

They are giving THREE images this month! Isn't that awesome?!? You have to post your finished card with the first image in order to receive the second image and then post the finished card with the second image to receive the third image. I'm not sure I'm gonna make it. Challenge ends on July 14th and I am cutting it very close! :-\

I've been a busy girl! ;)

Here is the card:

I colored the image with Copic markers. All card stock, clips, stars, metal tag, brad and printed paper are from my stash. I drew straight lines and dabbed tan card stock with various colors of green Copic markers to achieve the background papers.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Fitztown Challenge #4 - Sketch

Come join us at Fitztown Challenge Blog for our Challenge #4 using a sketch by Fitztown DT member, Deni. We'd love to see what you've got going on! :)

Here is my take on the sketch:
The card base is a 6X6 landscape single fold. I've used double-sided designer paper from K&Company by Ancestry.com. Ribbon is from my stash and flowers were a gift from my friend, Maria. The sentiment is from StampArt Design by Kathryne and I've mounted it onto a Spellbinders' Ironwork Accents die cut. I smudged Pebbles chalk over the sentiment to tie in the yellow in the fairy's dress with the yellow in the flowers. I also brushed Stickles in Yellow and Star Dust on the fairy's dress for some shimmer to the organza I imagine is the material used. ;) I've colored the image with Copic markers. The image is from Morgan Fitzsimons and you can find it here or here

We sure do hope you'll come join the fun at Fitztown Challenge Blog! :)

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Challenge #9 - Three Designer Papers

Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge Blog is having Challenge #9 - Three Designer Papers.  I hope this means use one designer and three sheets from a line and not use three designers and one sheet from three different lines. lol ;)

I chose DCWV paper pad called Lemon Flower Stack. Yummy paper! :) I had an even yummier image to go with it! It's nameless but you can find it under Img841 at Scrapbook Stamp Society.

Here is my card:
In addition to the designer paper, I added a silk ribbon from Raisin Boat. The sentiment is stamped from an unknown alpha and sentiment stamp set. The die cut for the sentiment is from Spellbinders' Classic Scalloped Square SM die. The large ivory flower was a gift from my friend, Maria. I made the two smaller yellow flowers from a scalloped circle and heart punch. I dabbed all the flowers with Stickles in Star Dust. This is a 6X6 landscape single fold card and I colored the image with Copic markers.

Come join our Challenge #9 - Three Designer Papers at Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge Blog. There are prices to win and fun to be had! :)

Oops!

I started coloring and putting this card together yesterday afternoon. I was preparing it for a very specific challenge. When I was almost finished with it, I realized I did not follow the challenge's theme. :( Ugh! haha :-\ Doesn't that just bite?!? ;)

By the time I finished it, I'd devoted so much time and energy into it, I thought I still want to show it to my special FB and Blogger peeps! :)

Here is the card:
The card stock, printed specialty paper and flowers are from my stash. I stamped a polka dot background with two separate Raisin Boat clear stamp sets using Tim Holtz distressed ink pad in Barn Door. The butterflies are from a Sizzix die. Of course, I colored the image with my beloved Copic markers. :) The image is a Sherri Baldy Stamp from Scrapbook Stamp Society.

Fitztown Challenge 3 - Masculine

I find these baseball images from Morgan Fitzsimons absolutely perfect for a boy's card. I made one for the Fitztown Challenge Blog and I've made this second one. I have one more of these images so I could make an additional card! :)

So this is the second card:
Of course, all card stock, star brads and alpha stamp set used are from my stash. I colored the image with Copic markers. The banner comes from an HOTP Design Tool Kit #4. I'm gonna enter this into the Fitztown Challenge #3 - Masculine because it just fits so well! :)

Tiddly Inks Design Team Call

Tiddly Inks is having a Design Team Call. I have a few of their images. I like the artwork. Just haven't had much opportunity to buy into it.

Dare I? Should I? My friend Terry has threatened to waddle to Texas from Oklahoma to smack me if I don't! ;) lol I have till August 1st to try. I think I may, I think I might. :)

Swirly Bling

I've posted a card to Scrapbook Stamp Society Blog using a Sherri Baldy BestiesTM image called image 725. You can read all about it here but the card is not visible... at least not to me anyway... :-\

SBS Facebook Fan Page Challenge

Hard to believe but yeah... it's been a month! Wowzers... as a dear friend of mine likes to say. :)

So here is June's card. Image is from Simply Betty Stamps and I am playing along with June's Facebook Fan Page Challenge. I am using the image I obtained for free for being a member of this special group! ;) If you're not part of the Facebook Fan Page OR do not want to participate in the challenge, you can purchase the image called Summer the Fairy. It is available with eyes open or closed and with or without sentiments.

Here is the card:
I used card stock, rhinestones and flowers from my stash. I dabbed Stickles in Frosted Lace on EVERYTHING to make it shimmer! Stickles always makes everything look prettier. :) I used an EK Success Butterfly Layering Punch and Darice Clouds embossing folder to add interest to the card.

Thanks for stopping by! :)
