Desperately Seeking Susan

Here's another movie I have not ever seen. Again... bits and pieces maybe because I did try... since lots of girlfriends and female relatives had watched and I felt the need to have something to talk with them about. I fell asleep almost every single time... I've never been much of a chick flick kinda gal... but I'm always willing to try new and different things so I will have something to talk about. I think that is what makes me interesting. I've tried it all... except for the chick flicks. I still watch them on occasion... when a sister drags me along for company... when my daughter raves about the movie and insists I watch it. Very few chick flicks have I liked... the only one that comes to mind at the moment is Bridesmaids... I thought it was hysterical! There were points of the movie that were too close to home and made me uncomfortable but it also had some hysterical moments! Watch that one if you haven't!

So when I saw the image Seeking Lil Susie Lil Ragamuffin at Scrapbook Stamp Society just a couple of weeks back... I had to have her. If for no other reason... than to just complete me. lol ;) I missed out on the movie... I probably won't watch it now... let me have this. :)

So here she is in living color... ;) lol

This is how I gave her color:

Blacks: N4, N6, N8
Grays: N0, N2
Skin tone: E00, E11, R20
Hair: Y13, Y19, E11, E13
Pink: R20

I struggled with the hair... I have only been coloring with Copic markers less than a month. I have a total of 23 markers... I thought it was 24 because I have bought four 6-pc sets but one of them came with a Multiliner SP 0.5... so that leaves me with 23 markers. It's one of the reasons I still rely a lot on my EK Success color pencils. :) I hope it looks like a dirty blonde... that's what I remember... that's what I was going for. :)

After I used some of my long-hoarded stash of card stock, printed paper, ribbon and ME & My Big Ideas Specialty Card Stock Pad, this is what I ended with...

I made this card for the Sassy Studio Designs: Dare to be Sassy Thursday #158. Something old, something new... well... I used my old stash of papers and ribbon... the image is new to me. I only bought it about two weeks ago... give or take a couple of days... and the first time I am using her. :) So the card qualifies in my book! :)

Thanks for stopping by! Please, leave a comment so I'll know you were here! ;) lol

  3. Love the card! great work on the coloring. I too and just learning to use my copic marker, however, I only have 8 so far, so I continually resort back to my Crayola colored pencils and gamsol.
