Dolly Cotton Candy Sugar Pie

I am participating in this month's challenge at the Scrapbook Stamp Society challenge blog. There are FOUR challenges going on over there and you have ALL month to submit. I may do the card sketch later but for now I chose to do the 3 recipe challenge. There's also a scrapbook layout challenge and an anything goes! Gotta love those anything goes! You do have to use SSS images but go on over to the store... they have a $1 menu and there's like 188 at last count... you'll easy peasy find something you'll love and want to use to participate in this challenge. :)

I am using the Dolly Cotton Candy Sugar Pie image... from the $1 menu... :) ... and the 3 recipe challenge calls for... three... duh... items... ;) lol ... there has to be a ribbon, a minimum of three flowers and the color pink.

Here is the colored image and below, I will tell you the colors I used:

Hair: N8, N6, N4
Pinks: R20, R43, RV13
Paper cone: N0
Skin tone: E00, E11, R20
Eyes: E13, E15

Let me tell you... when something goes wrong... it can be a non-ending battle. :-\ I wanted to use my glossy accents on the flower on her head to make the center of the flower shiny because it reminded me of some flower bows any one of my many great or great-great nieces wear. Well... I have two bottles... an opened bottle I've been using and a new one I received at Christmas. I looked high and low for the opened bottle... I suppose I put it in a VERY safe place... I sure wish my money was there too! ;) lol While trying to find it, I became distracted and instead found all this super neat fine glitter in neon colors I forgot I had AND a bottle of Art Glitter glue... made JUST for glitter!! I was also reminded of all the Stickles I have that go unused. I put all this on my desk so I can remember to use them. I also found a bottle of Mod Podge dimensional magic so decided to use that instead... still looking for the opened bottle though! :) I decided to use the ultra fine neon pink glitter I found with the Art Glitter as well. I forgot why I quit using it... I remembered pretty quick... it flows heavy! So I had to go back in with a Q-tip and pick some off. I am NO quitter! ;) lol I got it done!

Here is what I came up with when all was said and done:

I used card stock, ribbon and printed paper from my stash. The flowers are from Michael's $1 bins. I used Liquid Applique in pink for the cotton candy, hot pink neon glitter for the petticoat... I've written petticoats shimmer in my "Ema-gination"... and I did use the Mod Podge Dimensional Magic on the center of her hair bow. Here's a close up of the bow... after all I went through... I really want you to see this! :) lol

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll hop on over to the challenge and play! :)

  1. ohh-la-la -- she is pretty. That hair bow looks so real that you could just pick it off & wear it. Love her eyes.
