I am entering these two cards into two separate challenges and both are from my favorite stores! Raisin Boat and The Paper Shelter (TPS)! I love Raisin Boat's clear stamp sets and I love The Paper Shelter digis! There's a little bit of heaven going on in my craft room right now! The only thing that could be better at this very moment is if I won one of these challenges but wouldn't it be grander if I won both!?! Yes! I think it would be! lol ;) I'm not using a TPS digi so all I could get would be three digis but hey... I'm not greedy! I'm good with three! :) lol
I'm cutting it kinda close with TPS's Challenge #103 - Easter. I think it ends here pretty quick... I hope I don't get carried away with my writing! :-\ Raisin Boat's Challenge # 9 - Easter / Spring Project challenge is just getting started so I've got plenty of time PLUS I'm hoping to get ONE spring project made WITH a Raisin Boat clear stamp set so I can be entered TWICE with my one post... upping my chances over there! :) lol
I finished my Easter cards just in the nick of time too! I start classes tomorrow and I won't have time for playing with paper once school starts back up. Anatomy takes up MASSIVE amounts of my free time! Ugh! These are the last two Easter cards I will be sending out.
Here is the card:
I used ribbon, card stock and printed paper from my stash. Of course... Robin's Nest dew drops and Stickles in various colors on the tinsel in the Easter basket, the green "accents" on her jacket and hat and all along the edges of the hat and... what I "Ema-gine" is her petticoat. :) I also used some Stickles Pearls in Buttercup on the flowers in her hat. I punched a scalloped circle with a Michael's punch for a hand-written Easter sentiment. I made the flower from a 1" circle punch. I punched out 7 circles, punched a hole in the center to push a brad through and then proceeded to cut each layer into tiny strips to "mush" it into a flower shape. I edged all along the edges of the flower and the scalloped circle with Stickles. I then FORCED myself to put the Stickles down. :) lol
I saw a flower video tutorial on Pinterest and decided to make this flower. I actually started the flower back late last spring, early summer and finished it today. I have been on a mission since January 2012 to rid my craft room of scraps and... I'm sad to report... it's just NOT going according to plan! :( Anyway, I saw this tutorial and in the tutorial the woman clearly states NOT to make these flowers ahead of time but rather wait until an occasion presents itself and THEN make the flower out of scraps. Well... I was trying to get RID of scraps! I didn't listen! Instead I proceeded to make SEVERAL of these and other paper flowers I saw on her videos. All of these flowers have been sitting in my stash of flowers waiting for the occasion to use them to present itself. I now understand the reason for her caution. :-\ As I was sorting through all the flowers I made ahead of time... I couldn't help but wonder how long it would be before I used another one of these pre-made flowers. Kinda like all the tags I punched from some serendipity paper I made back in 2007 from scraps of paper as well. Although I have used several of those tags, I still have quite a few in my stash!! I'm starting to see a pattern emerge here and it has nothing to do with being well-prepared! Instead... I think I need to start tossing some of these smaller scraps! :-\ So anyway...
Here is the second card. I forgot to take a picture of the image and by now I'm thinking you're probably pretty happy about that! Look how long-winded I've gotten! ;) lol This image is from Robyn's Fetish and is called Cross and Flowers. How appropriate! I love it when the image clearly tells you the name! :)
All the ribbon, printed paper and card stock is from my stash. I used a Michael's Recollections lace border punch along one side of the white strip in the center and lined the other side with the yellow ribbon. I placed foam tape underneath the matted image so it pops up off the card. I added Stickles on the flowers in Yellow, Purple and Tropical Tangerine. Isn't it interesting that Yellow and Purple are yellow and purple but the peach colored hue is Tropical Tangerine? lol I am always amused by that! :-\ I know! I entertain easily! ;) I also applied Stickles Pearls in Buttercup in the center of all the flowers. Once again... I FORCED myself to put the Stickles down. :)
OK, that wraps this post up for me and I'm out of here until about April 1st weekend. That's a school holiday for Tech students and I imagine I may make a couple of cards that weekend. :)
As always, thanks for stopping by and, please... leave a comment so I'll know you were here. :)
