The image is from KennyK Downloads and is called Mae Western. I originally didn't plan to submit this for a challenge but as I was setting up this post, I discovered Kenny K's Krafty Krew is having a Layer It Up Challenge. I wasn't sure how many layers I had to use as it did not specify but I looked at some of the other entries and saw some with just a couple of layers like mine so I thought... what's the harm? The worst that will happen is that I'll get an email from someone over there saying no can do! :) Some of the designs the DT create are quite intimidating. They are... one word... FABULOUS! Were you expecting "wicked awesome"? Well, I did think that too but fabulous paints such a better picture. Based on the DT's cards I didn't think my card would fly but like I wrote... I looked at some of the other submissions... I think I will be OK. :)
I made this card for a male friend and boy howdy... I hope he likes it! lol ;) My friend is a huge Dallas Cowboy fan like myself and, unlike myself, likes to dress western. I thought the image might also put a smile on his face. I tried my best to not make it frilly! One of the reasons I struggle with male cards. I tend to want to add glitter! :) lol
These are the Copic markers I used to color the image:
Blacks: N08, N06
Reds: R46, R37, RV69
Blues: B23, B24
Grays: N04, N02
Browns: E13, E15, E18, E31, E33, E35
Skin tone: E00, E11, R20
Here is the card:
I used printed paper, card stock, eyelets and ribbon from my stash. I punched two hearts with a Michael's medium heart punch and hand wrote "Pucker up Cowboy!" I did add a little shimmer with a silver gel pin on the earrings, star and bullets on the image. I couldn't help myself! She asked for it! lol ;)
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll leave a comment so I'll know you were here. :)
