I am submitting this to two challenges I found this morning. :) I wasn't really looking... I needed to make this card for a Facebook (FB) group challenge, Simply B Stamps (SBS) Fan Group, to honor a freebie I was given. I like to do what I am suppose to do when I am given a freebie... it's just the way I roll. :) I stumbled onto the group quite by accident. Someone invited me... I went in to have a look see... and I fell in love. I found the challenges on the FB group when I first started doing challenges and I was doing only one at a time. I wasn't a brave girl yet. lol I commented on a post for a giveaway Betty was having and... get this... I WON! I did! Really! I won the entire 2013 release of SBS Teen Scene digi stamps! Can you believe it? I still pinch myself each month when I get the new stamps. :) Really! I do! ;)
So... anyway... I had to make a card for the SBS Fan Page Challenge and I went on to FB to catch up on stuff this morning and also planned to have a look see for a sketch. I killed two birds with one stone! I was glancing through posts and read Designed to Color's announcement their current Designed to Color Challenge #9 closes in three days and... get this... it is for a SKETCH! How lucky can a girl get? :)
Here is the sketch:
So here is the free image I received from Simply B Stamps Fan Group on Facebook:
Isn't she awesome? The challenge was a bit of a stretch for me. It's a color challenge. I struggle with those. I was given some liberty in the choice of colors. I still struggled with it though. The color combo is black, cream and one other color.
Here are the Copic markers I used to color her:
Skin tone, lips and eyes: E00, E51, R16, E15, E18
Greens: YG63, YG67, YG95
Blacks: N8, N6
Golds: YR15, YR23
Here is the card:
I used card stock from my stash. The swirls on the back cream colored paper was punched with my Lucky 8 Mini Flourish Punch from We R Memory Keepers. I bought the set of six from Paper Wishes as a Christmas gift to myself and I keep forgetting I have these! :( The sentiment is from Raisin Boat's Goes with Masterpiece Artist Gal clear stamp set... because... Medusa IS one of a kind! ;) I lost my cell phone last Thursday. I think I was a little absent-minded from the thrill of starting my spring break! :) Anyway, in the past, I've used my cell phone's camera to take pictures of my cards and struggle with the color hues. I am currently using the scanner on my printer and... get this... I am struggling with the color hues too! Ugh! It scanned the punched paper almost yellow and Medusa's dress brown but in real life the punched paper is a soft creamy color and her dress is a gold color to match the gold of the background mat and the banner! It did that with another card I made too. The stamp has an image of a cheese slice and I used orangey yellow on the cheese block and when I scan it, it keeps coming out red! :( Ugh!
Thanks for stopping by! Please leave a comment so I'll know you were here. :)
Oh, and in case you were wondering... YES! I do feel naked without my cell phone! Can you believe that?!? ;) lol
Fab background paper and awesome colouring!
