Blog Candy!

Woohoo! Blog candy! Who doesn't love blog candy? I've asked this question before and it's proven pointless. :)

Linda Simpson of Crafty Piece of Heaven paid a visit to my blog, left a comment and in her comment added she had blog candy at her place. I was in the middle of getting things done during my morning routine but I'll tell you what... I dropped everything I was doing and came to have a look and what an awesome blog candy she's got going on! Have a look:
I don't know about you but I'd love to win that! No matter if I am trying to reduce my rubber stamp collection! ;) lol

All you have to do to win the blog candy is:
1. Become a follower or be an existing follower.
2. Leave a comment on her blog.
3. Either post a picture of the blog candy on your sidebar or do a blog post.
I've done all three! Now you go do yours! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Announcement and a Shocker!

Let me start with the shocker...

It came to my attention last night that I seem to forget to take pictures of some of my cards way more than I thought! If you can imagine that? I suppose I am not the crafter I thought I was. I know I do not blog every single card and maybe I should if I'm trying to hit 365 posts for 2013. I was simply shocked that I also do not seem to photograph every single project I make. Shocked I tell you! I was looking for three specifically and did not ever find these cards. I think I remember gifting them and then, of course, I did not photograph them. :-O What kind of crafter am I, I ask you!?!

So anyway, this is what I was looking for. Well, not the only one, because I have four from Digistamps4Joy but this is the only one I found.
This is a freebie from Digistamps4Joy as I wrote earlier. I made this card for one of my sisters, who recently became a grandmother... again. The image is called A-La-Pram

Now the announcement...

The reason I was looking for it was to have a picture to place along with my exciting news! Well, it's exciting news to me! I've made DT for Digistamps4Joy! Are you as excited as I am!?! lol ;)

I'm so happy to share my news with a little corner of my blogging world! I just hope there's someone here to read it! :) lol

Unexpected Glitz

I've posted a card to Fitztown Challenge Blog using a Morgan Fitzsimons' digital image called Fishing. I've added lots and lots of shimmer to the card by dazzling the trees, water, scales on fish and sand with Stickles in Baby Blue, Green, Platinum and Star Dust. You can read all the details here.

This is my card:
Here are close ups of the dazzle and shimmer!

Steampunk Amelia

I've only made ONE steampunk card before this one. It was my first ever and I won a prize for it! The challenge hosts thought I did a great job considering it was my first steampunk. Even I had to agree with them! lol You can see the card here. That first image was kind of a cutesy image. This is my second attempt and short of copying everything to the letter, I really did not know what to do! I know I have some metal gears in a bag of embellies but I cannot find these! Isn't that how it usually works? This image is S - E - X - Z - Y. It's from Sassy Studio Designs. Would you expect differently?

This is Steampunk Amelia. I tried to find the direct link but no good for me! :( Here is my card:
You see I've got the embossed gear background and that same gear printed card stock. I fussy cut her again too and that was kinda an accident cause I didn't remember fussy cutting the first one. I dabbed some Glossy Accents on the goggles and her eyes. I added some plastic round discs in gray and smokey black and the round clip for some visual interest. I'm a little teed off because I originally had a really pretty, silver "S" shaped clip. I pulled it out of the embellies bag to use and I have NO idea where I may have left it! Ugh! I'll probably find it after I put this card away. And I was looking for that black wax thread to tie a knot somewhere. I'm sure glad I didn't find it! lol So this is for the Progressive Monthly Challenge #4 at Paper Craft Planet.

SSS Challenge #15 - Use Twine

Hey blogging world! We've a new challenge going on at Scrapbook Stamp Society (SSS), Challenge #15 - Use Twine. I love using twine. It's an easy bow! lol I struggle with bows like you would not believe. As a crafter, this makes me sad. :-\ I'm sure you might could understand my dilemma! But with twine... I'm the Queen of Bows! :) lol

Here's my card:
The 3D sticker, small frame, zig zag foil border, printed paper and card stock is from my stash. The tri-colored twine is Divine Twine from WhiskerGraphics. Isn't it awesome?!? I love it! The "Happy Halloween" is a foam shape from Dollar Tree! Can you believe it? I was thrilled when I found it! I dabbed it with Stickles in Firefly to glam it up a bit. The image is Cat and Pumpkin by Kim L. Pipkin Gwin at SSS and I colored the image with Copic markers.

Don't forget to join us at SSS for our challenge! Thanks for stopping by!

Back to School

Yuck! lol Both of my children are young adults so I don't do the school thing anymore... well... except for myself. I returned to school to get my prerequisites to enter nursing school but my leukemia is just not letting it happen! I got really sick during the spring semester... but I've often said my momma didn't raise a quitter so I'm gonna give it one more go. I think. I want to anyway. :-\ We shall see... in the mean time...

Simply Challenged Challenges is having a Back to School / Teacher challenge. Something like that. lol I know I'm suppose to use a school image. This is the last of the Teen Scene Wins I won back in January. I won the entire 2013 line of Teen Scene images from Simply Betty Stamps. I thought the entire year meant from January to December but I guess their calendar doesn't run like mine. haha I didn't receive anything in the month of June I think it was and then there are four months left in the year. If nothing spectacular were gonna happen I'd be like, OK, I get it. But June was graduations and summer, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming up so I thought SURELY there'd be new lines but oh well. I received quite a few images anyway and I've not been able to keep up with them but I was really looking forward to the fall/winter season in hopes of receiving some really cute images. What image from SBS is NOT cute, I ask you!?! None!

So, here's my card:
All supplies used are from my stash. I've colored the image with Copic markers. This image is Teacher Pet Jude. What did I ask earlier? Cute, huh! Of course! lol

Fitztown Challenge #7 - Add Sparkles

Boy howdy! Who's ready for some bling! I know I am! What girly girl doesn't like working with bling? ;)

Here is my card:
I've used Four Elements - Fire by Mariana Cagnin. All supplies are from my stash. The silk ribbon is from Raisin Boat. I framed the image with a shimmer card stock mat from DCWV. I've dabbed the flowers with Stickles in Star Dust to make them shimmer as well. Then, of course, some rhinestone swirls to finish off the card.

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:

Tworki, the Little Monster

In the past, I've always picked up Rick St. Dennis' (RSD) Airless Chambers and Sparkle and Glitter monthly freebies and make plans to join in on the challenge. I get caught up with other things and I've always seemed to miss it! :( I have several of his images colored, they just never made it onto a card. This month, I was all over it! Imagine my disappointment when I discovered there is no August challenge! Air Chambers is on a summer break! lol Just my luck.

I did discover though that RSD is sponsoring Creative Corner Challenges AND it's an "anything goes" challenge. So YAY! lol

Here is my card:
The image is Tworki, the little monster and I've colored it with Copic markers. Card stock, flower and pearl are from my stash. The silk ribbon and sentiment are from Raisin Boat. I thought it came out pretty gosh darn cute! On the inside of the card, I stamped out the message... "You scared me! Happy Halloween!" lol

I am entering this project into these challenges:

SSS Challenge #14 - Anything Goes

Wild thing... I think I love you! I keep getting that song stuck in my head. Every time I look at this card! Can you believe it? lol I thought it rather clever of myself to come up with it but I'd love it if I could look at the card without breaking into song because then I can't get it out of my head!

This is a BestiesTM Lil Muffy Mopsy by Sherri Baldy
All supplies used are from my stash and I've colored the image with Copic markers.

Don't forget to join us for the current "Anything Goes" challenge at Scrapbook Stamp Society. We've got a challenge at My BestiesTM Challenge Blog you could play along with as well.

From the Heart - August Stamp of the Month

This card is for the monthly challenge at Delightful Inspiration {from the heart}. Faith Skrdla will gift you a digital image for each month you participate in the challenge. Isn't that way generous of her?!? The challenge started in September and at the time, the first image was free. Imagine my disappointment when I discovered this in January. In order to receive the freebie, you must make a purchase and request the freebie of the month, and as long as you continue participating in the challenge, you'll receive a free digi each month. For the month of August, the freebie image is Cat's Out of the Bag

Here is my card:

All card stock is from my stash. I've colored the image with Copic markers. I added some Robin's Nest Dew Drops in Sunflower to add some interest.

Edward

Yeah, that's right. You read that correctly. Edward. From Twilight. :) Nope! Not a fan of Twilight. One of my sisters dragged me to watch one of the flicks and it wasn't too bad until the wolves started having a conversation and I kinda lost interest there but it was not TOO bad. :) lol I AM a huge fan of Kenny K. He's having an August Facebook *Freebie* contest and I sure would like to win me some $20 worth of digis... I'd settle for being a random pick for three free digis. But truth be told... I'd rather have the $20! ;) lol

So here I am with my card:
All supplies used are from my stash. I used a The Paper Studio embossing folder from Hobby Lobby. I hand wrote "timeless" and "LOVE" is from a Raisin Boat clear stamp set called No Loss for Words. The image is a Kenny K image called Edward. I colored the image with Copic markers.

I have to admit... HAVE. TO! I kinda think I rocked the image! What do you think? Please don't burst my bubble but be truthful. lol ;) I had a friend tell me she watched a video and in order to create shadows you add some grays to the mix. I'd done that once before only because I didn't have a dark blue but I decided to do that this time around and... Check. It. Out!

I used B23, B24, N2 and N4 on the pants. For the jacket, I used N4, N6 and N8. The skin I used E00, E000, N0 and N2. Very sparingly with the N2 and only under the chin and near the hairline. I just think the jacket and jeans came out great! I still haven't figured out how to do the folds in clothing but I think I got some good shadows going on here.

Well, I'm outta here to post this to the FB contest I referred to up on top of the post. Thanks for stopping by and if you have the inclination, I sure would love for you to leave a comment so I'll know you were here! ;)

We've got Challenge #6 Handmade Flowers going on at Fitztown Challenge Blog. I am so excited about this! I love making my own flowers!

I've made up a quick picture tutorial showing how to make these flowers I've used. You can see it here. Fair warning! It's picture heavy. :)

Here is my card:
All supplies used are from my stash and I've colored the image with Copic markers. This is a Morgan Fitzsimons image called Fairy Child 1a. The two larger flowers are the ones I've made for this challenge. I love making my own flowers! Did I say that already? lol I find the whole process occupies my mind and the time just flies by! I need that most days.

Here is a close up of my handmade flowers:
