Sassy Studio Designs Progressive Challenge

I made this card for the Sassy Studio Designs Progressive Monthly Challenge #6. That's weird! I thought last month's challenge was number six but oh, well! This was for a CHALLENGE! Use non-traditional colors on a white on white. I have a super hard time with white on white. Non-traditional colors was a cinch but then that was pretty much it for this crafter. White on white is just not my cup of tea! :( But I gave it my best shot, because isn't that what a challenge is all about?

Here's my card:

All paper supplies and pearl beads used are from my stash and I hand wrote the sentiments. The holly leaves are from a Spellbinders die cut. I dabbed these with Stickles Glitter Glue in Diamonds to make these pop out a little. White silk ribbon is from Raisin Boat. I colored the image with Copic markers. This is Santa Pin-up from Sassy Studio Designs. It's this month's freebie for the progressive challenge over at Paper Craft Planet but I told you that already. :) lol

Thanks for stopping by!

DigiStamps4Joy Challenge #81 - Distressing

Hello again! Time for a new challenge at DigiStamps4Joy (DS4J)! We've got Challenge #81 - Distressing going on right about now.
This is my card:
I've used The Handyman from DS4J. I didn't realize until I was fixing to post it that I forgot to color the buttons on his shirt! So imagine them black! :) lol I've colored the image with Copic markers. All other supplies are from my long hoarded stash. Sentiment is from Tiddly Inks and may be a retired sentiment.

I'd like to enter my card into these five challenges:
Challenge #82 Anything Goes at Color Me Creative Challenge Blog
I am a follower of these blogs and I have badges displayed in alphabetical order here.

Hope you'll pop on over to DS4J, join in on the challenge and show us your distressing skills! :)

Fairies and Freebies

Ha! Found me yet another freebie for a challenge! It's a fairy! I love fairies! I had to grab it and here it is for you to see:
The focal papers are matted on gold card stock and then I added gold brads. Tada! :)

I've also used the sketch from SFC Challenge #179 - Sketch at Stamps & Fun = Creativity... and boy howdy! Didn't they get the name of the blog right on!?!

This is the sketch and I think I nailed it! I turned it on its side.

I am a follower at both blogs and I display challenge blog badges here

Thank you so much for stopping by!

DT Tuesday at Fitztown Challenge #14 - Monochromatic

I cannot say enough how much I love monochromatic... and football! These two came together beautifully this time around, too! :)

Here's my card:

I've used a Karen Sheltrown image from Fitztown called Sports 1. I've used one of these images before and you can see it here. I LOVE THESE! These make such a statement! You really don't have to add much more to the card! I did use some football-textured BG paper because I. Had. To! HAD. TO! lol The stamped image at the top left-hand side is from Raisin Boat and is called First Down

I'd like to submit this card to the current challenge at Cards for Men, Challenge #24 Anything Goes. I have badges displayed in alphabetical order here.

Be sure to join in on the fun over at the FCB! Can't wait to see what all you will do with the current challenge! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Gingerbread Release at Beccy's Place

Here I am with my final post as a GD for Beccy's Place. What a bittersweet post. I'm saddened that it's my last but I've had such fun with the sets I've used and I especially liked this one!

I immediately remembered a project I've had in mind for years and I thought this set fit the project perfectly!

Here's my thought on that:
A closer look from the front:
A closer look at the images:

One word... seriously... one word... SWEET! :)

Winter holidays are the only time of year my Hershey joins me in the kitchen. She needs recipes as did I when I was a younger cook. We usually prop up the recipe cards here and there and almost always lose our placement but not this year!

I've seen this project years ago but kept putting it off. When I saw the Gingerbread Set I received from Beccy Muir, I knew exactly what to make with it.

I made the mistake of putting off painting the cookie sheet till the last minute and then we had a cold front come in. That sidelined the painting idea really fast. So I did my next favorite thing to do. I Mod Podged. :) lol I used tissue paper because I thought it would make more of a snowing looking background. What a nightmare! It sticks REALLY well! But as I've often written, my momma didn't raise no quitter so I kept at it until I got it done. :)

Trying to photograph the project was a nightmare in of itself. I used matte Mod Podge but I could NOT keep it from having a glossy look to it every which way I photographed it! I was about to toss in the towel and print up the images and make a card. I make cards so much better! ;) Hershey and some of her girlfriends arrived and squealed and oohed and aahed the project, I had to keep it. She actually took it home with her! I didn't have the heart to tell her I meant to use it here when we cook our Thanksgiving dinner. We don't really do Christmas. Long story!

So this is how I put my project together:
Copic markers to color the images
Organza white frilly ribbon from Hobby Lobby
Rhinestone tape from Michael's Craft Store
Silk red ribbon from Raisin Boat
Tissue paper and Mod Podge and lots of it! ;)
Unknown gingerbread buttons

I'd like to "Show It Off" at Create with TLC's Show It Off Sunday! I list all my badges in alphabetical order here

I sure do hope you will hop on over to Beccy's Place and see what the other girls made with the set! I'm sure there's GOBS of ideas you will see that may inspire you to run out and get your own set. I am actually printing some images off again to make those cards I thought of doing earlier. I want to use non-traditional colors, like pink and turquoise. I've a hankering for these colors. ;) lol

Thanks for stopping by!

FitzTown Challenge #14 - Monochromatic

Am I spelling that right? Monochromatic? I suppose so! Spell check didn't kick on! Ha!

FitzTown Challenge Blog (FCB) is kicking off their Challenge #14 - Monochromatic. I. Love. These! They are so easy to pull together! It's ALL shades of ONE color! Love! It! Did I say that already? ;) lol Just in case... llluuuuuvvv it! :)

Here's my card:
Fabulous right!?! lol ;) I'm getting pretty full of myself, I'm afraid but lately, my cards have been coming out just as I have "Ema-gined" them and they usually don't! :-\ So I have good cause to be happy about how they come out! :-D

So I've colored the Fae 6 image with Copic markers and it's easy to tell you the colors I've used! It was V01, V04, V05, V06, V09, V12, V15, V17 and BV000. I threw that last one in just to shake things up a bit! Ha! You can find the image here. I used a silver gel pen to highlight her earrings. The sentiment is from Fairy Wishes from StampArt Design by Kathryne at Whimsy Stamps. I dabbed Stickles Glitter Glue in Crystal on anything I could because we all know, Stickles makes EVERYTHING so much prettier! I matted the image with Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles SM. BG card stock is from StoryTellers Club. You know, they call this paper patterned paper but it's thick! I call it card stock and that's probably why some gals look at me like I'm a nut when I do this because it's PP! Until today, I didn't know that! I'm still gonna call it card stock and have people look at me like I'm a nut! ;) lol Everything else, organza ribbon, rhinestone and flowers are from my long-hoarded stash.

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:

I am a follower of these blogs and I have badges displayed in alphabetical order here.

Hope you'll come join us for the current challenge at FCB! We'd love to see what you do!

Sunday Release at DigiStamps4Joy!

This week's Sunday Release image from DigiStamps4Joy is called Agent Alexis. I took that to mean "Secret Agent". :) lol So I went with that type of theme. Since she's into top secret kinda documents, surely, she's crumpling paper if not shredding it and then getting blown up or shot at! So here's my interpretation of a secret agent card:
Ha! When I attached the last metal eyelet, I realized, these don't look like bullet holes! They look like what they are... sunbursts! lol I thought they might could pass for bullet holes. They still do in my "Ema-gination"! Ha! I've had the song "Secret Agent Man" stuck in my head all afternoon! :-\ Really, "Secret Asian Man" because when I heard this song originally, I swear that's what they were singing and for years that's how I sang it! lol You know you did too! ;) haha Well, actually, I've had the song stuck in my head since Friday afternoon because that's when I picked up the image. Please, pity me! lol I thought it would make a good masculine card. Maybe even one for a secret crush! Now to find me one. ;) haha

I'd like to enter this card into these three challenges:
I am a follower of all three challenges and have their badges displayed here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Digi Darla's Challenge #89 Copy Cat with a Twist

I found me another freebie challenge blog! lol *blush* I'm shameless I tell you!

Here's my card:
This is for Digi Darla's Challenge #89 Copy Cat with a Twist. I'll be honest. I cannot figure out what it means about "Copy Cat". I've read over all there is to read and I just don't get it. I guess I must have it explained to me like I'm a six-year old! :-\ I do know, it cannot be a square so I got that part down cold! ;) lol Nonetheless, this cornucopia was the freebie and I really like it! So I had to jump on it! I hope I win! I saw some adorable images I'd like to have!

I've colored the image with Copic markers. I used a We-R Memory Keepers Lucky 8 Mini Flower Punch to create the base of the card. All the other supplies are from my long-hoarded stash. I've been using nothing else and let me tell you. I'm sick of the stash! lol I've got a LONG ways to go before I finish it too! :( The Autumn Blessings sentiment was a freebie from StampArt Design by Kathryne about a month ago. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Creative Freebie Challenge November 17 - 30

This is my card for the current The Outlawz Challenge November 17-30. It's a beautiful image! It's a butterfly so I HAD to fussy cut and add wire antennas. Had! To! :)
Here's my card:
The BG paper is from Bazzill and for the life of me, I cannot remember the name of the collection. :( All other supplies are from my stash. I colored the image with Copic markers. It's photographing orange but in real life, it's more of a tannish brown and matches the background paper! What can I tell you? I've got some super crummy lighting and no camera. I have to use my iPhone and it doesn't do justice to my cards. I sure do hope Santa will bring me a camera this year! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Kite Cards

Just wanna share some cards I made for a swap on FB with some... what I like to call... imaginary friends! ;) lol These are online friends and I talk to them, feel for them, they are part of my life and I know they are there but I never see them. Get it? ;) lol No challenges, no links to share other than where you can get the images. This is all about the cards and me. :)

We're doing an alphabet swap. We're up to the letter K and the theme was kite. Here are the cards:
This image is from Some Odd Girl and called Kite Flyin' Mae.
This image is a freebie from Tuesday Coloring Pages called Kite Flying.
Images are colored with Copic markers and all supplies are from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Rick St. Dennis November Freebie

Are you noticing a theme? Yup! I like freebies! lol I think it's only polite to make a card when offered a freebie. I don't always get to follow through but I do my best!

So here's today's final card:
Isn't she the cutest mouse? I love the image! This is Priscilla Pilgrim and you can find her at Rick St. Dennis Digital Stamp store on Zibbet. This card is for Sparkle and Glitter the Rick St. Dennis EDT Blog. I'm participating in the November Freebie Challenge. All supplies are from my long-hoarded stash but you should know that by now! ;) lol I colored the image with Copic markers.

Thanks for stopping by and this is it for today. I did make five more cards on Saturday but these are for future posts. :) So be sure to come back! ;) lol

Gerda Steiner Fifth Freebie Design Challenge

I'm back! Did you miss me? ;) lol Here is my third card:
This is for Gerda Steiner's (GD) Fifth Freebie Design Challenge. So long as you are signed up for her newsletter, you will receive a freebie to participate in the challenge. I think that's how I remember it works. Anyway, this is this month's freebie, adorable little snowman image! GD calls it Cute Snowman but I think he's adorable! Sweet image but it makes me go brrrr... ;) lol I'm nowhere close to ready for winter. I'm struggling with the cool temps of the fall season! ALL supplies I've used are from my stash. I punched snowflakes and layered them to give the appearance of flowers. Ha! I liked the idea! :)

Thanks for stopping by... again! ;)

From the Heart - November Stamp of the Month

This card is for the monthly challenge at From the Heart Stamps. Faith Skrdla will gift you a digital image for each month you participate in the challenge. Isn't that way generous of her?!? It is a progressive challenge that started in September and at the time, the first image was free. Imagine my disappointment when I discovered this in January! In order to receive the freebie, you must make a purchase and request the freebie of the month, and as long as you continue participating in the challenge, you'll receive a free digi each month. For the month of November, the freebie image is Balloon Ride.

Here is my card:
The sentiments are part of the Balloon Ride set. I had to use BOTH! Too cute! All other supplies are from my long-hoarded stash. I colored the image with Copic markers.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Just Some Lines Monthly Challenge - Add 3 Embellies

I'm here today with a heap of posts! This is the first of four, I think.

I spent all day Saturday from 8 AM to midnight, yup, that's ALL day at a crop with my friend, Maria.com. I like to call her that because we met online. ;) lol Anyway, we, or I should say, she was invited to an all day crop by her husband's co-worker. Of course, she dragged me along. Not that I kicked or screamed too much. Just a tid bit. I'm not 100% myself these days but I thought the time out would maybe help a bit. I did have tons of fun and of the 10 projects I hoped to complete, I finished 9 of them! Woohoo! :) Five are for future posts but today there will be four of them!
Here's the first one:
This is the monthly freebie from Just Some Lines (JSL). JSL is having their monthly challenge and a freebie is offered to play along. I was lucky enough to have won at a past JSL challenge and I have the most adorable image! But I also liked this one and I thought I'd save the image I won for a challenge I really need one! :) The monthly challenge asks for using three (or more) embellishments and I did. I used a pom pom ribbon, rhinestone butterflies and flowers with beaded centers and these are all from my stash. The paper is from Fancy Pants Designs Celebrate by Michelle Coleman line. I LOVE this paper! I'd been hoarding it for the longest time but it occurred to me, it might be best to use the paper so I can buy new paper I can hoard! ;) lol I colored the image with Copic markers. For the life of me, I cannot remember where the sentiment is from but it is also a digital image. So sorry about that! I hate visiting blogs that won't tell me where they got the stuff they are using so I try my best to tell you where I picked up the stuff I've used but I cannot find the file in my thousands of digis! :(

I do thank you for stopping by and I hope you'll leave a comment so I'll know you were here! :)

HMFMC #158 My Favorite Things

Hey bloggers! This is my project for the current House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge (HMFMC) #158 My Favorite Things
The card SCREAMS my favorite things... all things autumn... rhinestones... and House Mouse Stamps! How much better than that can it get, I ask you? This is Turning Over a New Leaf and shouldn't EVERY day be like that?!? ;) I've colored the image with Copic markers. Printed card stock is from StoryTellers. Oops! That's another favorite! I love their printed card stock! Ribbon, plain card stock and rhinestones are from my stash. The sentiment itself is the way I love to approach life as well. Each day might bring on a little trouble or burden but so long as you remember what brings a smile to your face and peace in your heart, it's all good!

I hope to see you over at HMFMC for their current challenge. We'd love to see what all are YOUR favorite things!

Thanks for stopping by!

Creative Freebie Challenge November 3 - 17

This is my first time to join in on the fun over at The Outlawz Challenges! I'm playing along with the Creative Freebie Challenge. I received two images and my plans were to make one project with each image but as it seems to be the case for me lately, I just ran out of time! I did color both images but was only able to get one of them onto a card base and I love how it came out! When don't I?!? lol ;)

Here's my card:
I think I went a little crazy with the flames! Ha! I still like how it came out though.

Thanks for stopping by!

Progressive Monthly Challenge #6 at SSD

I made this card for the Sassy Studio Designs Progressive Monthly Challenge #6. Perfect, super cute image for an autumn theme. Love it! I think it makes for a great belated fall birthday card. Doesn't she look like she's embarrassed about getting caught doing something wrong? Forgetting birthdays is just WRONG! I should know! I do it all the time! :-O

Here's my card:
All supplies used are from my stash and I hand wrote the sentiment. I colored the image with Copic markers. This is Scarecrow Honey from Sassy Studio Designs. It's this month's freebie for the progressive challenge over at Paper Craft Planet but I told you that already. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Fitztown Challenge #13 Paper Piecing

Hi all! This is my DT card for Challenge #13 Paper Piecing at Fitztown Challenge Blog (FCB). I love paper piecing! It allows me to add so much more detail to the image!

Here's my card:
Check out all the detail! I used flocked paper for the tree. I then used embellishments to mimic the ornaments on the design. I love how it came out! The image is Winter 4 from the Winter Collection at Fitztown.

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:

Bauble Release at Beccy's Place

Here I am with my first "official" GD post for Beccy Muir at Beccy's Place. She has a new digital image set called Baubles. I am just so thrilled to be able to work with this great Christmas themed set! It has lots of pieces and, just as last time, I was torn about which pieces to use! I colored all of them and then played around to see what would fit. I think I got most of them!

This is what I ended up with:
A closer look at each card:

These are the products I used:
Stampin' Up retired paper (red and white stripe)
Bazzill card stock (Kraft and all other printed paper)
Unknown Card Stock (shimmer blue card stock)
Flowers from Michael's $1 bin
Rhinestones, satin ribbon, snowflake brads and plastic tree from my stash
Poinsettia brads from Hot Off the Press at Paper Wishes
Copic markers to color the images
Silver Gel Pen for some additional shimmer

I found this tutorial for a treat box on a card. I couldn't understand the measurements but the idea is pretty simple and straightforward. I read the instructions ALL the way through this time so I mean that! :) I cut a piece of paper the same size as my card minus an inch off the length. I then scored at 1/2 inch and 1 inch all the way around and I did follow her directions for cutting and putting it together. I accomplished what I meant to accomplish. :) Yay!

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by! I'm off to eat some M&Ms! ;) lol

Fitztown Challenge #13 - Paper Piecing

Hello all! Fitztown has a fab challenge this time around. Teammate Sande is hosting Challenge #13 - Paper Piecing. She tells all how easy it is to put a card together with paper and you know what?!? It is!

Here's my project:

This is KQ5 from the Kitten Queen collection. I used paper to clothe him all steam punk, hip and happening! I colored his face, hands and shoes with Copic markers and used the markers to create a little bit of shadow on the clothing. I added some wax twine to mimic drawstrings on his hoodie because he's got it going on! lol On the inside, I added the sentiment "You measure up pretty good!" I think it will make a great card for a young nephew trying to put his best foot forward.

I failed miserably with my 31 days of Halloween. I think I only made it up to Day 17 or something like that. I thought to myself, that's OK. I'll do 30 days of Thanksgiving. Ha! Today is Day 11 and boy howdy! I am surely way behind again. I did use fall colors on my project and I hope I can keep it up with some other gems I've got planned in my head. I hope it turns out just as I "Ema-gine" it! ;) lol

Sunday Release at DigiStamps4Joy!

Is it that time of the week already? I'm losing my days faster than water through a sieve! I swear I was posting the new release just last week! ;) lol

Here's this week's release at DigiStamps4Joy. I just love this new image!
It's Misteri and her BFF! Awesome, right?!? All supplies are from my stash and I colored the image with Copic markers. The sentiment is from a StampArt Designs by Kathryne at Whimsy Stamps called Bible Verse - Friends

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

DS4J Challenge #79 - 3 DPs and 3 Layers

This is my card for the current DigiStamps4Joy Challenge #79 - 3 DPs and 3 Layers. I like these types of challenges because it makes me pull out my good paper pads and NOT work with my endless scraps I am so determined to rid myself of. Seriously though... I am this close [ ] to tossing them out. Really. I. Am. ;) lol I've been singing that tune so long not even my dog, Fish, believes it! lol

Here is my card:
I'm using Tea Tray Tam. I cannot help myself when I see an image with a tea or coffee theme! I cannot tell you how many of these I have! I think they make great cards for letting a friend know you are thinking of her and how special she is to you. That's my thought on them anyway. :) I've used DCWV Lemon Flower Stack. Doily is from Michael's Bakery Department. Ribbon and color card stock are from my stash. I colored the image with Copic markers. I used a 7gypsies stamper to stamp the border around the sentiment from a retired The Angel Company stamp set. Not sure what it is about this DP always puts me in the mood for lemon cookies with some lime sherbet! lol

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:

HMFMC Challenge #157 - Anything BUT a Card

I've thrilling news to report again! lol ;) I've been invited to be a Guest Designer for November and December at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge Blog! I told you! Thrilling! :) Right? ;) My first project is for Challenge #157 Anything BUT a Card. Grab your HM stamps and join in on the fun!

Here's my first project:

Here's a close up of the image because I think I totally rocked those bows! :)
I used a tutorial from Scrapbooker's Paradise Blog for the box. When I first reviewed it, I thought it looked pretty straightforward and easy to complete. I didn't read it in depth, instead, choosing to be lazy and kinda just skimmed the tutorial. Halfway through cutting and measuring, I read these dreadful words:

"This next part is a little tricky..."!

I almost started crying! But I've often said, my momma didn't raise no quitter and I'd already spent so much time on it! Total project, including photographing it, took NINE hours! I don't dare tell my friend, Maria. She doesn't let me live down it ONCE took me THREE hours to make one card! ONCE!

I did love making it though! I think next time, I'm opting for painting the base rather than layering it with paper. It might be a good idea to follow her instructions and decorate each section before gluing it together. *teehee* *blush* I liked this project so much, I'm thinking of making one for each month of the year! I've chosen to use it as a desktop calendar.

These are the items I used:
Copic Markers
House Mouse Wrapped and Ready Stamp
My Mind's Eye O Christmas Tree paper pad
Doilies and red glitter star from Michael's Bakery Department
DecoArt Crafter's Acrylic Paint in White
Number and Alphabet Stickers and plastic Christmas tree from my long hoarded stash

I do thank you for stopping by! I hope you'll leave a comment so I'll know you did! :) Be sure to pop on over to the HMFMC blog and join in on the current challenge!

Sunday Release at DigiStamps4Joy!

Can you believe it's Sunday already? Only yesterday it was Monday and I had slept last Sunday away. What can I tell you? Graveyard and CML don't seem to go well together but that's a story for another post! Right now, I'd like to share the new release at DigiStamps4Joy. It's one word... wicked awesome! I love the image!

Here is my card:

This is Misteri - PA (personal assistant). I couldn't help but fall in love with the image. Reminds me of ME! lol That is back before I became ill. I've always worked as an administrative assistant or office manager in the past. Loved working! Especially when I got to dress up. Once I was diagnosed... I was lucky to just show up. I've not done this since September 19, 2012 and I miss it... and I don't... but again, that's a story for another post! I've used ribbon, card stock and printed paper from my stash. The sentiment is from Michael's Recollections Collection. The flower is from Prima and it was a gift from a dear friend. I colored the image with Copic markers. I thought the image made for a great card for someone with a new job!

I'd like to enter this card into these two challenges:
Crafty Hands is a spanking new challenge blog! Go check it out! :) I am a follower of these blogs and I have the badge displayed here
