DS4J Freebie Friday!

Yay! It's that time of month when DigiStamps4Joy has their Freebie Friday! It will be available for three days only so be sure to pop on over there to get it quick!
This is Porthole View:
This is my card:
I've not EVER had a hankering to climb onto a cruise ship... maybe because I don't know how to swim... maybe cause I watched Titanic 100 times... but I just don't. :) lol So... I can only "Ema-gine"... and my "Ema-gination" ran wild with this one! lol I colored the image with Copic markers. I used a gel pen to dot the night sky with stars. I assume the only time you'd really look out your porthole window is when you are going to bed because if you're on a cruise ship... why would you be in there during the day? That's my thinking... just saying... I also used the gel pen to color in the "screws" on the porthole. I "Ema-gined" rich paneled walls and heavy velvet drapes. hahaha... too much Titanic! lol The background paper is Douglas Fir wood paper from McMahon Five Design. I used a gold cord I found in my stash to mimic what I "Ema-gine" drew up the shades. I have some deep red faux suede paper but for the life of me... I cannot find it. I was gonna do something totally different with it but I surprised myself with this find and then couldn't let it go! :-\ lol I'll find the faux suede paper later tonight... when I am looking for something else. :-\ Ugh! The sentiment is from A Piece of Heart. So there you have it. I like how it came out... not quite how I "Ema-gined" but it works for me. :)
I'd like to enter my card into these challenges:

I am a follower of these blogs and display badges and / or links here.
I hope you'll pop on over to the DS4J blog to see what my teammies have made with this image as well. They've all got fabulous ideas and I was in awe when I was checking them out. Thanks for stopping by at my place! :)

  2. Nice job! I agree with you - I have absolutely no desire to be on a cruise ship (and I can swim)! The thought of being in the middle of all that very deep water is just too scary for me - LOL. I'm happy to see the scene from your lovely card. thanks for sharing with us this week at ATS&M. Hugs D

  4. What a cute card with lovely colors. It reminded me of those days when I used to work in the cruise ships. This is a familiar site. We are so blessed that you joined us at our Word Art Wednesday Challenge this week. Hope you join us again shortly in our new Challenge. Leaving you with God's Word in Psalm 29:11, "The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace."

    Hugs always,

  5. Pretty much spot on, very well Ema-gined. Your card reminds me of the days, when I worked on a cruise liner and broke the rules by sleeping on deck. :-) It is magical when the sea is calm and you can't tell the difference between a starry sky and the sea, it's like flying through space! Great card! Thanks for joining us at ATSM. Monika
