Fitztown is Celebrating!

Thanks for coming over to my place! If you're twisting your way through the blog hop, you've arrived here from Diane's place. If you want to start from the beginning, you can go to the Fitztown Challenge Blog

We've got something special going on this week! As usual, there's the current challenge to play along with. It's a CELEBRATION theme and for a very special reason! Celebrations can include birthdays, anniversaries, new baby, new home, new job, retirements, weddings, graduations... you get the idea!

Fifty two weeks ago today, Fitztown Challenge Blog launched its very first challenge! Woohoo! So put on your party hat and fancy duds, shine up your party shoes and come celebrate with Fitztown at the CELEBRATION Blog Hop!

So much has happened since the beginning. Fitztown had some growing pains and we continue to learn and grow. The collections in the store have also continued to expand! The Design Team (DT), Guest Designers (GD) and I want to show you something from ALL the collections. After all, Fitztown is not all about fairies and teddy bears! Fitztown has SO MUCH MORE to offer! Each DT member and GD is featuring a project from different collections through out the store. Be sure to visit all of them so you won't miss out on what's available! In the mean time, we want you to party down with us! We've got some special prizes to make this a fun celebration! Keep reading!

First, let me show you what I've made for the blog hop. I'm sharing with you something from the Sports Collection. Awesome! I have a love/hate relationship with masculine cards so whenever possible... I jump on it. lol I know! Sounds completely crazy but that's me in a nutshell! I happen to think this one turned out fantastic! I mean, really, what ELSE could I say about it? Here's my project:
Here's from another angle:
This is a view from the front:
Here's a close up of the image:
See! Fantastic!
I should tell you, in case you do not know this already, I hail from the country of Texas where football is King of Friday nights. Actually, that's not completely true... it's King ALL THE TIME! :) I grew up in Shallowater and at the time, the population was 1,063 if I remember correctly. Huge metropolis! lol That's ALL there was to do during the school year! Football... followed by basketball... during the summer... softball... or baseball depending on your gender. Football was the king of it all! There was homecoming and a fantastic competition to see who could show up with the biggest mum. lol I just cannot emphasize enough. FANTASTIC! lol
When I lived in NH, I will not ever forget the Monday after the premiere of Friday Night Lights. I kid you not... some of the guys were waiting for me at my desk to ask me an all important question. Them Northerners wanted to know if we Texans were really like that! What can I tell you? I had to confess that we are! lol Ssooo... anyway... when our teams make it all the way to the top... we celebrate big time! The red and black are my high school colors, Coronado High School and their mascot is the mustang... horse... not car. Also, red and black are the colors for Texas Tech University and their mascot is ... kinda hard to explain ... but you can have a look here... cause really... I just cannot explain it.

Anyway... I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:
I am a follower of these blogs. The blog layout I use does not allow me to list challenges on a sidebar. Instead, I display badges and / or links here.
This is how I put this fantastic card together:

Beary Wishes: New Release

I'm here to share a couple of new releases with you from Beary Wishes but before I do that, let me share a new release from last month:
This is Hydrangea Apothecary Jar from Beary Wishes. I've colored the image with Copic markers and dotted the centers of the blooms with Liquid Pearls in Buttercup. The embossed paper, ribbon, rhinestones and card stock are from my stash. The purple butterfly was punched with an EKtools Butterfly Layering Punch. The sentiment comes from Hello Sentiments at From The Heart Stamps.

You know... I've seen other blogging crafters do this and as a DT Coordinator for another digi company, it kinda irks me. I usually will just add one card per post but I have to show you three this time around so I'm going to do what I've seen others do. I'm of the thought that just because everyone's doing it doesn't make it right, but... maybe it is allowed. I haven't read anything in the rules reading it's NOT allowed. I've read its got to be a new post and no back linking. This is a new post... so I'm gonna go for it. I'm kinda embarrassed to do it though. *blush*

So for the card above, I'm entering it into these challenges:
I am a follower of these blogs. The blog layout I use does not allow me to list challenges on a sidebar. Instead, I display badges and / or links here.

Here is one of this month's releases:
This is Sweet Rosie Cupcake. This item comes in black and white and pre-colored in green, blue and pink. This is my first time using a pre-colored image. I added some pink Liquid Applique for the frosting and I stamped "for {heart} you" on the flag. The card stock and printed paper are from my stash. I used a Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles SM. The sentiment comes from Hello Sentiments at From The Heart Stamps.
So I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:
I am a follower of these blogs. The blog layout I use does not allow me to list challenges on a sidebar. Instead, I display badges and / or links here.

This is the last release I will be sharing with you today:
This is Zen. It also comes in black and white and pre-colored in orange, pink and purple. I chose to use the orange pre-colored image this time around. I added some Stickles Glitter Glue in Yellow to the flame to make it look like it's lit up. lol Printed patterned papers and card stock are from my stash. The silk tangerine ribbon is from Raisin Boat. The sentiment is from Graceful Sentiments at From the Heart Stamps.
I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:
I am a follower of these blogs. The blog layout I use does not allow me to list challenges on a sidebar. Instead, I display badges and / or links here.

Ssooo, I believe I've done everything correctly. Linked up everything where it should be. Hope you will pop on over to the Beary Wishes blog and check out what my teammates have come up with as well. Kathie is also offering a freebie!
I sure do want to thank you for swinging by my place!

Sunday Release at DS4J!

Sunday Release at DigiStamps4Joy again! Has it been a week already? It feels like I was just writing that yesterday! Wow! Time is just whizzing by and I am not getting any living done but that's a pity party for another day. Today, I'm here to show you one of the Sunday Releases. When I saw this one... I fell head over heels in love! I use to have a figurine EXACTLY like this one... except the figurine was black, where I used orange was red, pink was white and hooves were gold instead of silver... but other than that... EXACTLY! lol ;) I won't keep you in suspense any longer! Here is my card:
Here's a close up of all the sparkling:

Flowers!

Flowers, flowers, flowers everywhere! I love spring and early summer. Neighbors are out gardening and everywhere there's flowers to see. Love it! My allergies don't... but I can see these flowers through my house's windows. Actually... it really, officially is not my house. My son is buying it but since I'm unable to work cause of the CML he's offering me a bedroom rent free... AND I get to decorate the house how I want so I've a habit of calling it my house... but officially, legally... it's Jay's house. lol
So this is for Just Some Lines May Challenge - Flowers. They offered this cute image as a freebie to participate. I'm of a mind that if I pick up a freebie... I should participate in the challenge! I try! Sometimes, I cannot make it... but I do my best... and here's this month's best:
Here's a close up of the extras on the card:
I used a sketch from Sketch Saturday - Sketch #310. I am a follower of these blogs. The blog layout I use does not allow me to list challenges on a sidebar. Instead, I display badges and / or links here. Here is the sketch:
This is the recipe I used:
Image: JSL freebie
Colored the image with Copic markers
Sentiment: Unknown
Card stock, flowers and pearl beads are from my stash
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Extras: Stickles Glitter Glue in Star Dust and Paprika and Liquid Pearls in Buttercup

So that's how I put this baby together! lol
Thanks for stopping by!

Loving DP!

I'm sure most paper crafters are thinking I'm loving designer paper but no.... although I do... I'm referring to Doodle Pantry! Adorable images and some of these come with sentiments and I loves me digi stamp sets that come with sentiments! This is a kinda progressive challenge. If you use their images, you receive a featured product free the next month. I thought it meant you had to use the featured product so I am using the set they sent me this month but no... they mean ANY of their digis! Last month when I discovered them, I grabbed a few of their freebies and there were plenty I want to use but because I was misinformed, I made this card... and it still came out fab! lol I'll show you:
Here's a close up of the extras on the flowers:
I am participating in the Doodle Pantry Release and Challenge Blog Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge #46 - Use Any Digi. I used a sketch from Lili of the Valley Ideas to Inspire Blog A Saturday Sketch. I LOVED the sketch! I am a follower of these blogs but the sketch isn't a challenge... it's just for inspiration... I think. The blog layout I use does not allow me to list challenges on a sidebar. Instead, I display badges and / or links here. This is the sketch:
This is the recipe I used:
Image and Sentiment: Doodle Pantry - Petite Bouquet
Colored the image with Copic markers
Printed Paper: American Crafts
Solid card stock, brads, button, fabric ribbon, flower ribbon and ruler printed paper are from my stash

i {heart} card sketches w/a tWiSt no.66

So this is the second progressive challenge for this round. I've still one more, plus I found two more... teehee... *blush* and I've JSL which isn't really a progressive. They give a freebie and I've mentioned before... I think it's rude to not use the freebie if they are giving it to me. I always try to use the freebies. Some are hard to. For example... the SC images. Gals will post their colored images in the Facebook groups and it's very intimidating! So I just ooh and aah their work. I'm not in that same league so I don't try. I do color them and I do make them into cards and give these to family and friends. They all love them and they ooh and aah over my stuff. Just not too sure SC fans would and... I am not up for that kinda scrutiny right now. I'll stick with these fun images that are sweet and easier to color... perfect for an artist of my caliber. :)

Here's the card:
This is for i {heart} card sketches w/a tWiSt no. 66 at From the Heart Stamping Community. The image is the May - Free Stamp of the Month Challenge. I am a follower of these blogs. The blog layout I use does not allow me to list challenges on a sidebar. Instead, I display badges and / or links here. It's called Whimsy Garden Fence. This is the sketch:
All supplies are from my long-hoarded stash. I colored the image with Copic markers and the sky is chalked with Pebbles Chalks. I dabbed the centers of the large flowers with yellow and turquoise blue Liquid Applique and the centers of the small flowers with Liquid Pearls in Buttercup. Here's a close up of the flowers on the card:
That's it for today... I think... unless I get hit with another bolt of mojo... but I doubt it. Grocery shopping takes a lot out of me! :(
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Besties!

So the progressive challenges continue. I thought I'd be able to get them all done today but I went grocery shopping this morning and it has wiped me out! I was only able to get two cards done after I got up from my well-deserved nap. :)

This is the first card:
This is for Gerda Steiner Designs 7th Freebie Design Digital Stamp Design Challenge. I am a follower of this blog. The blog layout I use does not allow me to list challenges on a sidebar. Instead, I display badges and / or links here. The image is Lion and Lamb freebie. Gerda changed the freebie challenge to a progressive challenge. Wellllll... you know I had to be all over it! Haha! As a matter of fact, I had decided last month I was not going to participate in these freebie challenges because last month, I had to gather my own votes. I don't like that. People stop speaking to me. I'm very aggressive about it. lol J/K! I had been participating because I think it's rude to pick up a freebie and then not use it. Now... if I want the freebie... I gots to participate. All of a sudden... I want it! lol
The printed paper, card stock, button and cording are all from my stash. The sentiment is from StampArt Design by Kathryne for Whimsy Stamps called Sentiment - BFF. The set comes with this itty, bitty heart with the letters BFF and I tried to find that one but I had the bright idea to fussy cut it and heaven only knows where it ended up at so I went with this one. Still cute! I just thought the little heart would have been cuter... kinda like cute just got cuter. lol I colored the image with Copic markers and the sky is chalked with Pebbles Chalks. Here's a close up of the Glossy Accents I dabbed on the hearts:
Cute just got cuter, right? :)
I'm outta here. Got another card to post and then I think I've got to start supper for my hard working son. He's expecting fried chicken. I forgot the saltines this morning so I'll have to use flour. Not too happy about that. Maybe I'll roast the chicken instead... with some veggies. Sounds like less work anyway. lol
Thanks for stopping by!

Not A Tie!

My dad was a Southern Baptist preacher. For Christmas, Father's Day and his birthday, he always received ties. One year, I bought him a man's "muscle" shirt with Mickey Mouse on the front and... He. Loved. It! Wore it every weekend! I just made myself miss my dad! :(

Anyway, this digi stamp set called Not A Tie! from DeeDee's Digis brought back those memories of his receiving tie after tie after tie. On top of that... he didn't like cheap ties either... if you were planning to gift him a tie... it best be top quality! I can understand that. He was up in front of a congregation every Sunday... all eyes on him.

So this is the card I made with this digi stamp set:
The sentiment is part of the stamp set and I just cannot tell you how much I love stamp sets that come with sentiments! Love! Them! This is for the second of two progressive challenges I am posting today. This is for DeeDee's Digis May Digi of the Month Challenge. I am a follower of this blog. The blog layout I use does not allow me to list challenges on a sidebar. Instead, I display badges and / or links here. All the supplies are from my long-hoarded stash... :-\ ... I fussy cut the ties... because it was super easy to do! lol And layered them above a black wax jewelry thread I bought back in 2007 only because it was $1 but I had no idea what it was until my friend, Maria, came over late last year and told me that's what it was! Ha! Here's a close up of what I did:
I thought myself VERY clever! I colored the ties like this because I remembered having some paper that looked very masculine with these same colors. What I did not remember is that obviously I'd used it because I could not find it! Or it's just in such a safe place that I will find it when I am looking for another paper I thought I had. I really, really need to chose my paper first and then color the image! I just cannot seem to learn that! :-\
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Imagine That!

Yes! Imagine That! A progressive challenge! lol This is one of two that I am posting today alongside the ADFD post. I found this challenge last month and am loving the images! This month's image is called Girl with MOM Banner. Super fun and cute image! Here is my card using this image:
It took EVERYTHING I had to keep from coloring her lips red! EVERYTHING! This is for Imagine That! Monthly Progressive Challenge and Inspiration Blog May Progressive Challenge - MomI am a follower of this blog. The blog layout I use does not allow me to list challenges on a sidebar. Instead, I display badges and / or links here. I've colored the image with Copic markers. All supplies are from my long-hoarded stash... of course! :-\ The sentiment is part of the digi stamp set. Isn't that awesome? I love it! I added Glossy Accents to her eyes and the center of the banner for some added detail. Let me show you:
See! Pink lips instead of red. EVERYTHING I had to not use red!
Thanks so much for stopping by my place! :)

ADFD: Challenge #95

I think I am going to have to make myself a calendar or punch list or something. I've said it before. This time... I. Mean. It! This challenge is set to close in about 13 hours! Also, it would help me tremendously... if I could figure out the time zone! There was a time before that I thought it was PST USA because it read "PST" on the challenge blog. But I missed a deadline a few weeks back because I had that idea so now... I'm no longer sure what time zone it is in. Does PST always mean Pacific Standard Time? It's like EST. Am I wrong to think it ONLY means Eastern Standard Time? I have no idea! So for DT Coordinator responsibilities, I started listing the time EST USA just to be on the safe side. lol Up until this happened, I never gave the acronyms much thought. Now... I'm on a mission to decipher them... on another day... :)

So anyway, I've less than 13 hours to complete this now. I can get so wordy sometimes. That's my word for chatty. lol

Here is my card:
I should mention, today is the day for progressive challenges. Not ALL of them, but two and this one. This one doesn't fall under progressive challenges but I'm of the mindset that if I pick up a freebie... the least I can do is use it! I don't always make it... again... because of the whole time zone fiasco from before but also... my meds are interfering with my life tremendously. Nowadays, when I have the energy to do anything, I chose to craft. My family doesn't understand that. They think I should come out and attend a graduation, birthday party, BBQ... in other words... be sociable. Don't they know? I have chronic leukemia and as hard as I try NOT to let this get the best of me... there are many days... I am severely depressed because of this. The CML is just the tip of the iceberg. There are many, many more reasons for my depression. My sisters know some of them. I have one sister who wants me to cry and then snap out of it. :-\ The other one is more understanding... but I think the first one kinda goads her into dragging me places. I just don't feel like doing much right now! Oops! Sorry, got off the subject... this is a tale for another day. For now...

This image was a freebie from A Day for Daisies for Challenge #95 - Add a Doily or TwineI am a follower of this blog. The blog layout I use does not allow me to list challenges on a sidebar. Instead, I display badges and / or links hereI used a doily. I kept the card CAS for the most part because the image is so clean! I love it! Ssooo, printed paper, card stock and doily are from my long-hoarded stash. I used my favorite embellishment, Robin's Nest Dew Drops in Sunflower and Summer. I just love them! They fancy up a card but not as when a rhinestone would be too much. Buttons are my second favorite. They are so... "down to earth"... ;) lol The sentiment is from Graceful Sentiments at From the Heart Stamps. I colored the image with Copic markers and used Glossy Accents on the bottle to give it a little extra. Here, I'll show you:
So, I'm cutting it short here! Before I get on another long winded topic and miss the deadline! lol
Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Sunday Release at DS4J

Yeah! It's that time of week again! Sunday Release at DigiStamps4Joy. I have to admit, I had to skip a few. My oncologist put me on some new meds and they are wiping me out! I'm always sleepy and if I am awake, I am super tired. He said it was just a matter of my body getting used to the dosage and these side effects should pass. So I'm holding my breath. Till then... my crafting has kinda taken a back seat but when I saw this week's new images, I had to take action! I love this image! Here's what I am talking about:
Here's a closer view of the Glossy Accents on the specs and shine on her lips:

Mother's Day

Can you believe May is almost half over? This is crazy! My time is just slipping past me!

I've got a card here to share with you. It's my Mother's Day card for my beloved mom. I keep her cards CAS. I think this is a little over done but I couldn't make myself stop! lol I used to go all out with her cards but after the first time I saw her rip the envelope open, peek inside for money and then toss the card aside... never more! My mother is sadly... very materialistic. I think it stems from her growing up in a large, poor family. Not sure... it's not the type of things I discuss with my mother. My mom will be 94 years old on May 26th. Haha... when I was little, I thought my mother's birthday was a holiday because it fell close to Memorial Day and businesses were closed. :)

So here's my card:
Ssooo... what do you think of the balloons? I colored them from top to bottom and I think I started out pretty good. It got harder as they overlapped more and more as I went further down but I think I did OK for my first time to color balloons "transparent".

Isn't this the sweetest image?

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:

Freebie Image from The East Wind
Colored the image with Copic markers
Daisy border punch from Michael's Recollections line
Pearl beads, card stock and specialty paper from my stash

I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day either visiting with your mom or that special lady you hold dear to your heart or your children. I plan to visit my mom tomorrow because I will be staying home all day Sunday on the off chance my estranged daughter might show up. I wouldn't dream of missing that! We shall see!

Thanks for stopping by!
