Poolside Penguins

I've made this card simple and plain for an 18 month old nephew who loves bouncy balls, blue and putting things in his mouth. I had to resist the urge to add Glossy Accents and charms. I was focusing on child-friendly. I think it still came out super cute letting the image do all the talking:
This is Poolside Penguins from Imagine That!  I'm playing along with the June Progressive Challenge. I've colored the image with Copic markers. The background paper is retired from StoryTellers Club. I've used a sentiment from the Poolside Penguins digi stamp set. I am a follower of this blog. The blog layout I use does not allow me to list challenges on a sidebar. Instead, I display badges and / or links here
I love how bold the colors came out. My nephew was entertained with the card much longer than he was with the new toys he received... of course... by the end of the evening... it was a soggy card! lol Isn't that to be expected from children?

i {heart} card sketches w/a tWiSt no.72

So this is the second progressive challenge for this month. I've still one more as it is usually the case when I get to making my projects for the progressive challenges and, once again, I find myself cutting it close to the deadline.
Here's the card:

This is for i {heart} card sketches w/a tWiSt no. 72 at From the Heart Stamping Community. The image is the June - Free Stamp of the Month Challenge. I am a follower of these blogs. The blog layout I use does not allow me to list challenges on a sidebar. Instead, I display badges and / or links here. The image is called Super Birdbrain. This is the sketch and I think I was able to follow the twist too:
Isn't this a FUN sketch?!? I just love it! All supplies are from my long-hoarded stash. I colored the image with Copic markers. The Super Birdbrain digi stamp set comes with its own sentiments and I printed one out to use but I guess I put it in that bottomless pit I like to call my "safe place." :\ I couldn't find it and I looked for a good minute and a half! lol So after turning my craft desk upside down, I found this sentiment from Ginger's House and decided to use it because it fits the image just as well. I like how it worked out.
That's it for today... I think... unless I get hit with another bolt of mojo... and I've got my fingers crossed... but I doubt it. I've been up since 7 AM and it's barely 1 PM! I'm ready for a nap but I'm trying desperately to stay awake. I've been taking naps all week and they ran long each and every day and then I couldn't sleep at night! Ugh! Don't you hate when that happens? So I'm trying to get my sleep schedule back on track. I'm gonna do some household chores... maybe work one more card for the last progressive challenge I've to work this month... see if the household chores don't interfere with the mojo. We shall see! :)

Life's a Beach!

Here I am cutting it super close once again. I've just been so busy trying to feel like me circa 2009. It's taking all my energy and time. I did manage to squeeze time in to get this little project made in time to beat the deadline. Yay me! :)
Here is my card:
Was I super clever with this or what!?! I was super clever! lol This is Life's a Beach from DeeDee's Digis. This is for the June Digi of the Month Challenge at DeeDee's Digis blog.

DS4J Challenge No. 95 - Shaped Card

DigiStamps4Joy is having Challenge #95 - Shaped Card. I decided to go with a round easel card. I originally wanted to just make a round card... but I thought ahead enough to when I'd have to photograph it and now as I am typing this, I realize, I could have just laid it flat on its back! That's me! A day late and a dollar short as always. lol

Beary Wishes June Release

Hi all! I'm here to share a card with an image that always takes me out of my comfort zone! Steampunk! This is really popular lately and I can appreciate the style when I see it but when it's time for me to work it... I hit a blank wall. I think I did OK this time though. Here, I'll show you:

All card stock and supplies from my stash
So what do you think? I did good right? lol I think it came out pretty good. I'm always freaking out when I'm working with a steampunk image. I used to be like that with masculine images but now I love using those so someday, maybe I will feel the same way about steampunk images. I think it's a wicked cute image.
Here's a peek at a couple of the other new images:
The fourth new image is A Grand Dress and indeed it is! Go check it out! Be sure to visit the Beary Wishes Blog and checkout what my teammates have come up with... PLUS... Kathie is offering a Steampunk Typewriter digi freebie... but hurry... it's only available for a couple of days!
