Today, I made a card for no other reason than to occupy my mind. It didn't really work... I still shed my tears I'd been holding back all day. It's really a long sordid story but suffice to let you know that I discovered I was not invited to a family wedding. It made me realize the day my 94 year old mother passes, I will no longer have anyone who will love me unconditionally. So, it made for an empty heart today and my card paid the price. I couldn't fill it up enough. lol Here I'll show you:
Oh, look! A twisted easel card:
Here's a side view:
Here's a close up of the image:
I didn't think this through very well... when I added the eyelets on the corners, it made for an unattractive back view so I decided to cover it with card stock. THAT was NOT the answer either... so I added a flower:
I want to show you why I LOVE to make easel cards. First, they make the card look so much more elegant! In my "Ema-gination" anyway. But most importantly, I'm using more and more paper and let me tell you, I've been hoarding it for a really LONG time so I have a LOT of it. I'm left with large scraps that I might could make a second card with and then these itty, bitty scraps that I am able to toss without reaching into the trashcan to retrieve them:
Isn't that wicked awesome!?! It lifts my spirits momentarily there to get to show you that. :)
I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:
(The six embellishments on top left and bottom right corner are eyelets.)
I am a follower of these blogs. The blog layout I use does not allow me to list challenges on a sidebar. Instead, I display badges and / or links here.
Here's the sketch:
Here is the color inspiration:
This is how I put my card together:

(There's NO way I could possibly get you a direct link.
I cannot remember the name of the paper pad!)
Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles SM
Pigment inks: Cat's Eye Queue from Clear Snap
Flowers, buttons, twine and eyelets from my stash
Ssooo, I also wanted to participate in Sentimental Sunday's Challenge #219 - Decorate Your Card Inside and Out but I forgot the sentiment! Go figure! I guess it's a good thing though... this is the first time ever I've listed so many challenges! I think I'm OK with each of the challenge rules, but I might could have missed one! :\ I hope not! lol
Thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteEmma, your card is beautiful! Love the coloring of the image and your wonderful palette! As for the other, I don't know if you believe in a higher power, if you do, remember that G-d will always love you unconditionally and your mother's love lives in your heart and it has been and always will be unconditional. Feel better. Thanks for dropping this wonderful project off by our house here at 613 Avenue Create!
