When I found this image at Bugaboo, I knew EXACTLY who I was going to make a card for. Never mind that she almost looks like my friend, Donna, from NH. Donna is tall, slender, wears eyeglasses, has short straight hair and always dresses like a hot, sexy momma that she is, it was the sentiment that I just KNEW I'd have to include with it! lol
I'll never forget the first Christmas I met her. It was at a Girl's Friday Night Out gathering that one of my other friends had established and I was invited. What a fun group of women these gals turned out to be! Anyway, the first time I attended that Donna was there... cause every Friday night... it was a different group of women who showed up... depending on babysitters, schedules, family life, so forth... I was the only childless one so I was ALWAYS there. I have children, but by the time I met these women, they were both over 18 and I could come and go as I pleased. Anyway... got off the subject... the first time I met Donna, the topic of conversation turned to baking cookies for the holidays. We were having a 'themed' night out... it was December and we were having a cookie swap. No one told Donna this and she didn't bring cookies. The girls were all laughing and giving her a hard time and someone asked her what was she going to leave out for Santa and someone else said she'd get coal for Christmas cause she forgot to leave cookies out for Santa. Welllll... she confided to us that she didn't need cookies for Santa... because her Santa wanted something different and she obliged because she got FABULOUS Christmas presents in exchange and she went on to list how one year she got a car and then showed us the rings on her fingers and named them off by year. Needless to say, we all hooted and laughed something fierce! I remember going home with a belly ache! lol One of the gals said something about how she hadn't ever gotten anything like that... and Donna's response was "What do you expect if you're leaving cookies for prezzies?" Donna said something about getting the short end of the stick or shorted or sticked... something like that... when you left cookies for Santa. lol Oh, my goodness, just remembering that night brings back a smile and a flood of memories of all my wonderful friends I left up north. Every time we gathered together for a cookie swap, we did not let her live that down and insisted she bring cookies whether she needed them or not! Every chance we'd get, we'd find a reason to bring up cookies for prezzies as she called it. Ssooo... this image BEGGED to go to Donna's house for Christmas this year... and I'm obliging! :)
