Hello, once again! It's time for another challenge at Fitztown Challenge Blog. This week Team C and I are hosting Challenge #49 - Wet or Dry Embossing. I just LOVE embossing! I think it adds such an elegant touch to a card.
Get this... my brother asked me to make a card for a DJ at a local radio station. He's her '#1 Fan'. So this image came to mind cause all the movies I've seen with DJs in them, they have them wearing these headphones. So I thought it would be perfect... if DJs no longer wear them... I don't know anything about that! lol
The day before her birthday... he starts to back out of it... cause he doesn't want to appear like a stalking nut. Who could blame him? This brother is the same one with Stage IV kidney cancer. I had to remind him who cares what others think so long as we know it's not true! Surely... he knows he's not a stalking nut... :) lol
I tell him these cards are a lot of work for me and I don't make them so they can end up in the trash... or so that I don't see it anyway. We'd already written her name in it with a personal message and when he sees I'm upset he tells me he will give it to someone else. He'll just white out the name. :\ I was almost in tears! lol
Ssooo... after all was said and done... I delivered the card to the radio station for him to her. She announced on the radio she'd received a pretty handmade card from her "#1 Fan" and $20! Wow! That's a FAN! lol He tells me he called her and told her it should have been a grand but his sister delivered it so who knows where the rest of the money went. lol He's witty like that. ;) Anyway... here is this week's project:

By the way... in case you've not noticed... I've gone and fallen in love with the twisted easel card! Ha! I may never make a single fold card ever again. ;) lol I hope you don't get sick of seeing these!
I'd like to enter my card into these challenges:
Delightful Challenges: Weekly Post - 1, 2 Punch (I used a border punch)
This is how I put my card together:
Image by Mariana Cagnin at Fitztown
Image was colored with Copic markers by yours truly
Sentiment: freebie from Ginger's House
Embossing folder from The Paper Studio at Hobby Lobby
Glossy Accents on eyes and lips
Fiskars border punch
Card stock and printed card stock from my stash
Before I let you go, I will tell you a couple of songs that are on my playlist. lol For sure, Coqueta and then followed closely by Mi Vida Loca. Coqueta translates to flirt. Teehee! ;) lol There's also a song a male friend of mine tells me he thinks should be on the list because I'm such a heart breaker... if you can believe that!?! ... ;) ... Maldita Mujer which translates to damn woman! The lyrics refer to a woman toying with a man's affections. I think he exaggerates! He and I didn't have that kind of a relationship! lol
Click on the links! It will take you to YouTube so you can hear the songs. Fair warning... songs may get stuck in your head... they've been stuck in mine since I created this card which by the way... it was SEVERAL weeks ago! :\ What can I tell you? I love to share the music! :) lol There are more songs I'm sure but I've got to give it some thought. My playlist changes from day to day... but the first two songs... always stay on the list. Don't we all have that playlist and it changes from day to day? :)
Thanks for stopping by my place today! I hope you have time to pop on over to the challenge blog and see what my teammates have come up with to inspire you to join in this week's challenge.

Very nice easel! Her hair is colored beautifully. The plaid paper made me see your focal image as that of a young Scottish lass! Nice job! Thanks for dropping this off by our house here at 613 Avenue Create!

OMGoodness, this is so cute - a perfect image for the DJ! I had a good chuckle over the story behind it! I'm glad the DJ did receive it. I feel the same as you do about throwing away a handmade card - it would hurt me to know that anyone threw out one of my cards after all the time and love that go into making them. Thank you for the instructions on how to follow you, and I hope I did it correctly. I didn't see GFC but I saw Google+ so I clicked on that. I don't know how that one works but hopefully it shows that I am following you now :-) If you do have GFC or Bloglovin' please let me know - I use those to read my blogs each day Have a good one!
