Gina

This week, at Inspiration Destination, we have Rick St. Dennis as our sponsor with two digis for one lucky winner! Awesome blossom as is,,, or was... the popular phrase. :D When I first saw this image, I just fell in love with her outrageous curves and I completely understood the expression on her face. lol ;) Then... I read the sentiment at Ginger's House and the two just came together beautifully! I went a little crazy with the pictures but that's because I was desperately trying to capture the details and shimmer of her outfit.
Click on the images for a closer look!

In these next three images, I played around with the auto correct feature to give you a better view of the outfit, skin tone and hair, respectively.

Then, I meant to use three feathers on the card itself but I lost one of the black feathers on my well-organized desk! lol Really, I normally don't work like this. Have you seen my banner? lol ;)
By the way... the card is for one of my sisters... she parties hard on the weekends and to see her during the work week or at church, you'd never know it! lol I hope she sees the humor in it as I do!
Card Recipe:

The Best Cupcake!

Here I am again doing my GD spot for My Whimsical Little World with this week's new release!
Click on the images for a closer look!

I'm having a time these days. I fell during an icy snowstorm we had back in February. I really want to say I fell gracefully and all is well but I'm thinking... maybe not so much! When I fell, I did what I've always instinctively done and put out my arms to stop myself... as if that really helps! :\ So anyway, I landed on my hands and knees... HARD... and then I'd been cleaning the snow off the windshield and windows to our van so my gloves were already a little slick and instead of stopping on my hands, the gloves kinda skidded on the ice and I landed with a big ol' WHOOP onto my belly. Completely knocked the wind out of me, let me tell you. When I was younger, it was no big deal to fall... I've always liked falling. lol When I'd fall, I'd jump up as quick as I could and brushed myself off looking around to make sure no one had seen the spectacle I'm sure I made! No, this time, I laid there for awhile. I'd still be laying there if my brother hadn't glanced out the window and saw me laying motionless. He later told me he thought I was unconscious! lol Really, it just must have been quite a sight! As I was falling, I heard my daughter's voice saying "Tuck and roll, Mom! Tuck and roll!" We've had this conversation many times in the past five years or so. Because... like I wrote... I just like to fall and we've discussed how now that I'm getting a little older that maybe it's dangerous! You think? So she's been a huge fan of tucking and rolling. I think it was good that the words were going through my head... I think it means... next time... the thought will come naturally and maybe I WILL tuck and roll! Ha! So anyway, after my brother helped me up onto my feet and into the house, I checked myself over and nothing was swollen and nothing was really, very painful. It hurt more the next day and the funny part is that the hips down to my knees is what really was hurting. I had trouble sitting comfortably. Now... weeks later... I started with some hand and arm pain. As the weeks have gone by it hurts more and more. I'm right handed and it's the left hand that hurts the most so I thought... no big deal! Boy was I wrong! I had no idea just how much I used my left hand until these past few days because it's just hurting more and more. I called my doctor's office a couple of weeks ago but since I wasn't in serious pain and there was no swelling, it wasn't considered an emergency and the appointment was scheduled for April 24th. In the meantime, if it were to get worse, I should go to the emergency room. Well... I'm kinda thinking about that right about now. We'll see.
Ssooo, I'm having to rely on some assistance with many things that came naturally. Thursday night, my daughter took me out to dinner and I ordered a steak. I couldn't hold the knife and fork to cut the steak. The muscle spasms in my hands were horrific. It's mostly hand muscle cramps and pain in my left hand in the thumb joint down by the palm. There's a technical term for that but I can't think of it now. lol So much for anatomy! :\ Hmph! So anyway, I needed help putting this card together. I originally had plans to alter a tin and adding cupcake ingredients and making a tag with the image. But since I had to have assistance from my daughter and she was rushed to get to work, I decided to go with a card. I picked the sketch but I asked her to pick the papers. I hadn't wanted my final project to be so pink but well... that's just the critic in me! lol
But isn't the image just too darling!?! I think when I'm myself again, I will follow through with my original plans for the altered tin and tag. Till then, here's my daughter's take on my directions. lol

Dance in the Rain!

This week at My Time to Craft Challenge Blog we have Challenge #288 - Umbrellas. I hope you can find the time to join us! This is my little project for the challenge:
Click on the images for a closer look!

I had such fun with this project! I've not used my 'real' stamps in like forever and a day. It's downright sinful all the stamps I have and I sit here accumulating digital stamps! For shame, for shame on me! But I'll tell you... it will give me LOTS to do when I retire in about 20 years or so. lol I hope stamping and digital images are still all the rage! :)
Card Recipe:
Image and Sentiment: Retired Stamp from Stamping Bella
Image colored with Copic markers and silver gel pen
Buttons, embroidery floss, plain and pattern card stock and printed paper are from my stash

Missing You!

We have two wonderful sponsor this week at Inspiration Destination! One of them is Fresh Brewed Designs!
Here's an image that spoke so deeply to me, I had to use it! Had. To!
Click on pictures for a closer look!

The cup has a handle and you can see it in this next image. I couldn't save it when I was cutting out the window and I meant to add a small wire handle but forgot until I was done and by then, I didn't want to risk tearing anything just to add the wire.
Card Recipe:
Image: #1340 - Thinking of You - Girl in Window from Fresh Brewed Designs
Image colored with Copic markers and silver gel pen
All plain card stock is from Michael's Recollections line
Sentiment is from Flurry of Love, a retired Pure Innocence stamp set at My Favorite Things (I think it is retired because I could not find it.)
Black ribbon is from my stash
Image is cut out and mounted on foam tape to give the scene outside the window some depth perception.
(Retired) Tree background stamp is from The Angel Company (You might think that the scene looks crooked but the thing is that you cannot see the entire scene and it's a landscape of a hill.)
I chalked the grey clouds using Pebbles chalks and a cloud template I found online from Bev Rochester of All the Things I Love.
Really... to be quite honest with you... it came out so much better than I ever 'Ema-gined'! lol The image that is. I am just so pleased with it! :)

Oh, the places you'll go!

Thanks for popping in here today! This is my second week as Guest Designer for My Whimsical Little World for the month of April. I'm just so pleased to be able to work with these adorable images from Paola Jafro. This is one of the images available with this week's new release.
Click on the images for a closer look!

My intention was to include the quote from Dr. Seuss, "Oh, the places you will go! There is fun to be done!" I actually have a rubber stamp that has the first sentence. It's in that bottomless pit I like to call my 'safe place' with all my other thousands of dollars. I have a friend whose first grandson started daycare this week. I thought this was a perfect card for that! Sssooooo... I had to stop and take a photo because I have a deadline... I figured I could just keep looking for the stamp after I took my pics and made my deadline. :) I haven't decided where exactly to stamp the sentiment... whether on the front of the card or on the inside... there's plenty of room on both places... either way... I'm sure it will look super awesome! lol

Card Recipe:
Image colored with Copic markers and silver gel pen and mounted on foam tape
Pattern card stock and sticker are from Basic Grey Wander (retired)
Tim Holtz Distressed Ink in Wild Honey
Black card stock and brads from my stash
