This image is from Whimsy Stamps and it is retired. It was from their digital collection which we all know, after the new year, the digital collection was done away with. The artist is Marika Collins and the image is Beach Babe.

Oops!

Well, my plan today WAS to work on some DT stuff and clean the house... especially since I spent ALL day yesterday with my button jars that I showed you here. But as I loaded the laundry basket into the... what I like to call... my washateria... the ribbon jars called out my name! I sternly replied, "No, not today! Maybe tomorrow." So I headed over to the kitchen and started doing the breakfast dishes and once again... I hear the ribbons jars calling out to me! So once I finished the dishes, I finally replied, "FINE!" and here we are. :D lol
Click on the images for a closer look!
Here's a close up of one jar:
Recipe:
Image colored with Copic markers and a silver gel pen
Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles SM
Embroidery floss and twine from my stash
These went a lot faster... well... first of all... most of the ribbons were in one place and plus, they are larger than buttons and brads and tiny doodads. :) Yay! lol So now there's plenty of time to finish the wash and... while I was doing the dishes... I glanced over on the counter and my brother had washed a large pickle jar for me and I'm thinking... perfect size for a scissor jar? Maybe? So really, I'm gonna try and wait till later this week but when I'm on a roll... I'm on a roll! Besides... the label is already colored and prepped. I just needed the right size container. Ssooo... I might be back later today! lol
I'm off to do another load and sweep and mop the kitchen... finish what I started earlier... for real this time! :p
Thanks for stopping by!

Teehee!

I'll have you know... I've done absolutely NOTHING today except work for my little project. Really, creating the project was pretty quick. I started last night and probably finished about midday but the rest of the day was spent sorting by color. :( I really should have been working on DT projects but well... let's hope I can get those done tomorrow! Yikes!
I wasn't working from about January 2013 to October 2014. In that time, I had purchased a bunch of jars and sorted all my crafting supplies by type and color. And by type, I mean, ribbons and embellishments. I also read up on the... gosh I'm drawing a blank... but it's a binder system with compartments. Anyway, their concept is that you divide your stash by color, season, occasion and holiday. I believe that's how it goes. Well, if it isn't... it's what I've been doing! lol So I had all my stuff divided up like that in jars of different sizes. It made for a pretty display on my shelf. My son has been promising me some shelves in my craft room since we moved into this house in September 2012. Well, he's moving out next month... and now I'm finally gonna get them... but that's because I'm hiring someone to install them for me! lol So I kinda wish the shelves were up so I could show you the display as it should be but I'm anxious to show you this so you'll just have to 'Ema-gine' it with me! lol
Yesterday, I was commenting on entries to my little challenge blog, Inspiration Destination. There was an entry using a new release from Alicia Bel. This crafter actually used one of the stamps I'm not showing you today but she made a light bulb go off in my head for sure! lol So I went and purchased the entire new release. Ha! I also meant to flip some of the images so all the gals wouldn't be facing in the same direction; however, I forgot. But the other digi stamp that I plan to use with coordinating colors faces in the opposite direction so I'll be able to put them side by side and it won't look so symmetrical... to a point.
So let me show you what I started... and probably won't finish for several weeks.
Here's a close up of one so you can get a better idea of what it looks like.
Recipe:
All images colored with Copic markers and a silver gel pen
Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles SM
Mason jars and plain card stock are from my stash
As you can see from the labels in front of the jars, there is also a label for ribbons, scissors and flowers. I've started coloring the ribbon labels and scissors but I need a break! lol I'm starving! I'm still contemplating adding words to the labels. I'm not sure how to write it in. So I'm thinking on that.
I used nothing but scraps for this project! Woohoo! lol Well, except to print out the images but the scalloped circle dies are from scraps and the bands wrapped around the jars are from scraps as well.
Like I wrote earlier, this project took almost my entire Saturday but that's cause I had to sort my embellishments by color again. After I'd sorted all my embellishments in jars as I wrote earlier, I met someone online from here! We met and she went on and on about how we were gonna craft together and go on retreats. She took me to some crops and so I had taken everything out of the jars and put them into baggies by season only. Because... she said we were gonna have to be mobile. I believed her. Imagine my surprise when we were in a FB group and she made a comment about the HUGE age difference. :\ I forget now but I'm probably about 15 years her senior. She said that although I was ssooo much older, I was still fun and she imagined we'd be friends for life. Well... apparently... she was one of those people who meant... until someone better suited came along. Her husband graduated from college and started working. One of his new coworkers crafts and is the same age as my 'friend' and so I was dumped for a younger woman! Months went by without a word from her. When she finally did make contact, she'd always cancel.
So... now I'm having to put my supplies back like I had them. And I won't be changing that again! I'll be doing the ribbons next and I'm looking for a jar for my scissors and a box for my flowers. lol
So I hope you enjoyed viewing this as much as I enjoyed making it! lol

World's Okayest Brother!

That would be my brother, Manual.
Being fatherless has been hard... it's become much harder now that my mother passed as well. I couldn't get myself to create Mother's Day cards for my sisters... but I managed to make this Father's Day card for my brother.
My mother's dying wishes were instructing my siblings to look out for me because I am the only single girl in the family and, more importantly, the youngest... the baby of the family. Well, I'll have you know that when I get to heaven, first thing on my list of things to do is find my mother and TATTLE on TWO of my siblings! Other than them two, my brother living with me does what he can. He's living with Stage IV kidney and lung cancer and is pretty sick. But he's done a lot to help me out around my home. The oldest brother is married and I'd say he took The Lord's Word faithfully to "cleave unto his wife" and left his family. Manual calls me... not regularly... but often enough to check on me and when I needed major help with my home... fixing a leaking roof... he did show up... three days late but he showed up! lol So this is for him... world's okayest brother!

Hiya Hot Stuff!!

Welcome bloggers! This week at My Time to Craft Challenge Blog we have Challenge #295 - Male. Truth be told... I. Love. Male. lol Making male cards that is! ;) Takes me out of my comfort zone and really makes me work the old noggin. :D Here's what I came up with this week:
Click on the images for a closer look!

And I'd just like to show you what happens when you've got bad lighting:
I like to show you angled images so you can see the depth of the card; however, I couldn't get a good picture! I think it's that yellow green card stock I used... not sure... on the other hand... could just be the bad lighting in my home. :(
Card Recipe:
Colored image with Copic markers, fussy cut and mounted on foam
Sentiment was picked up somewhere... IDK or remember where exactly... but I thought it fit perfectly here!
Pattern paper is from Michael's Recollections (it's also the last tidbits, I think. Made me so sad!)
Cord is from Michael's bargain bins
Plain card stock and brads are from my stash
You know... I kinda think this guy resembles someone I dated a while back... except that this guy has three fingers on each hand and the guy I dated had four... other than that... striking resemblance! Ha! ;)
