Country Girl

This is my card for this week's Wonderful Wednesday at Kraftin' Kimmie!
Click on the images for a closer look!
Here's a peek at the inside:
I've used a retired rubber stamp set from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp and colored it with Copic markers. The sunflower pattern paper is retired and from Graphic 45 and the rest of the pattern card stock is from The Paper Studio 'Farm Fresh' at Hobby Lobby. I just love it! I like to think I kept it clean and simple and letting the image do all the talking. Ha! :)
I'd like to enter my bookmark into these challenges, if I may please:

I'll Wait Here for You!

Hey there! I'm here to show you my project for this week's anything goes challenge at Inspiration Destination. I made a magnetic bookmark! Rather pleased with myself on how it turned out!
I don't like bookmarks that stick out of the book. I prefer flat bookmarks. I've had bookmarks with tassels on the end and they get caught on something and slip out of the book! What a hassle trying to figure out where I was especially when it's been more than a couple of days before I got back to my book. I've seen magnetic bookmarks and when I saw this image, I knew EXACTLY. What. I. Wanted. To. Make. :) Isn't it awesome when it all falls into place like that? So this is how I like my bookmarks to be waiting for me. :)
Click on the images for a closer look!
I fussy cut the bottom portion of the image to create the flap that will go over the page. I layered a flat magnet between the image and backing and then another piece under the pattern paper.
I recycled the flat magnet! You ever get those flat magnets for your refrigerator from sales reps, companies and on and on? Well, I. Love. Getting. Those! Ha! I save, cut and use them as closures! :D I bet those people that send these out wouldn't send them to me if they knew that! I even have my family save them for me! :D

Here's a peek at what's under the flap.
I'm aging and it's hard to have a steady hand some days. I guess I should invest in a tripod! :p lol It surely wouldn't hurt. But in case you can't make it out... it reads "I'll wait here for you!" lol I like to tell folks that when I'm in a situation I have to be there when they come back... for example... when I've driven someone to the grocery store or doctor's appointment and I'm their ride home as well. :) Or at the office, when my boss and coworkers tell me they are going to lunch. Ha! :D And well, the bookmark will have to be there when I get back to it... like this! lol
Here's a pic of my coloring. I'm starting to get the whole brown hair thing. :)
I've used Book Lover from SLS Lines, our fabulous sponsor at Inspiration Destination this week. I've colored the image with Copic markers and it took everything I had to keep from adding Glossy Accents on her glasses! I like to do that but I wanted the image as flat and non-dimensional as possible. All other supplies are from my stash. :)
I'd like to enter my bookmark into these challenges, if I may please:

Merry Christmas!

Hi! Have you started on your Christmas cards? Well, I meant to start them earlier this year, but I've had a rough start to the year and am WAY behind by now! But here's one I've made for this week's anything goes challenge at Inspiration Destination Challenge Blog.
Click on the images for a closer look!

Here's a closer look at the image. I used Crystal Snow loose glitter on the beard and flock on the 'fur' of his suit.
Here's a closer look at his 'glistening' beard and fluffy 'fur'. lol
This is Santa and Tree from Robyn's Fetish. I've colored the image with Copic markers, Crystal Snow loose Glitter and Michael's Recollections Flock in white. Green pattern paper is retired from Graphic45. Sentiment is a rub-on from 7Gypsies and the holly leaves are a die cut from Spellbinders. Red rhinestones and plain card stock are from my stash.
I'd like to enter my card into these challenges, if I may please:

Be-YOU-tiful!

Hey all! Just a quick pop in here to show you this card I made with a freebie I found over on Mari Digis Challenge Blog! I saw this card and wanted to get a closer look. By the way, Mari has a heap of more freebies! Be sure to check it out! :)
Click on the images for a closer look!
This image is a freebie from Mari Digis! Can you believe it? I've colored the image with Copic markers. Sparkly paper and all card stock are from Michael's. I won the flowers from Paper Temptress. So sorry! I cannot remember where I got that sentiment! :( The leaves are die cuts from a kit at LaLa Land Crafts. I dabbed Stickles Glitter Glue in Crystal on her earring and necklace.
I'd like to enter my card into these challenges:
The Paper Girls Challenges: Challenge #106 - Use Your Scraps (I've used nothing but scraps, even the die cuts were cut from scraps! Ha!) (2E/3E)

My Hero

Hey all! Just a quick pop in here to show you this card I made for my son. :)
I found this digi for FREE over on Mari Digis Challenge Blog! I forgot how I came about visiting her blog other than that I saw this card and wanted to get a closer look. By the way, that adorable image is also a freebie! Wow! Right?
So anyway, I immediately knew I had to have this image I've used. I have a son who's a HUGE fan of super heroes! Have you seen the show 'The Big Bang Theory'? Well, my son's friends and he are almost like them! lol None of them are scientists but they all gather together once a week and discuss super heroes. They also get together for some of the premiere movies. Just a great bunch of guys if you ask me!
I picked up a gift card for my son and wanted to make a card to present it to him. I did pick up an image here and there but this one really hit it on the nail! So I whipped up the card fast as 'Flash Gordon' and here I am! lol :)
Let me tell you, I have two children but my son is the only one who speaks to me. You see, I was a wretched mother when my children were growing up. Even this son use to tell me that! Why was I wretched? Well, I didn't allow them to run around loose and fancy-free and I made them go to church every week! Whether they sinned that week or not! Can you imagine? I was a single mom and sacrificed my happiness for them. I did remarry briefly but left the marriage the first time my second husband called my son 'stupid'. You see, my son had learning difficulties when he was growing up. He was labeled every possible thing they could think of over the years with the final diagnosis as Asperger Syndrome. I'd always said that he was just developing slower than his classmates and that someday, he'd catch on. Well, he's 30 now... and he's proven me correctly!
But that's not why he's getting the gift card and this card. He's getting this because every week like clockwork, on Thursday evenings, he'll call me to ask if I need anything done around the house. And if there is, he'll come over on His. Day. Off. and helps me! He doesn't drive only because mom doesn't want him to drive... it's a frightening idea at the moment... so for now, mom runs son on his errands and when finished, son gives mom gas money without prompting! At other times, he'll reach into his wallet and hand me a $10 or $20 so that I can have pocket money cause he doesn't want me to run around empty handed! Are you crying yet? Cause I sure am!
Let me tell you, he was not easy to raise! He was a struggle and there were times I worried one of us would kill the other! But all that difficult work has made me such a proud momma at what kind of young man he has turned out to be. So anyway, this is the CAS card I made for him. Please, for me, this is CAS! lol
Here's a peek at the inside of the card. I plan to write in "always wear a cape and armor. Sometimes, he wears jeans and a t-shirt and is a loving, dutiful son to his old momma." :) Ha!
Here's a closeup of the colored image:
Yes, this image is a freebie from Mari Digis! Can you believe it? I've colored the image with Copic markers. All supplies used to make the card are from my stash.
Mari also has a monthly ANYTHING GOES challenge! I had to jump on that as well! lol :) So I'm entering this card into Challenge #14 - Anything Goes over at Maris Digis Challenge Blog. I am also entering it into these challenges as well:

Beachy Keen!

Quick little beachy keen card for a challenge over at Whimsie Doodles. My Teammie, Patricia Alvarez, invited those of us on IDCB DT to join in on the fun. I always mean to play along with this monthly challenge because... after all... I have an entire month to get ready for it! Somehow it always gets away from me but here I am. Ssooo grateful for the invite! Ha! :D
Click on the images for a closer look!
Here's a close up of the image:

I've colored two of the Beach Borders background with Tim Holtz Distress ink pads in Antique Linen, Tea Dye and Brushed Corduroy for the sand, Faded Jeans and Broken China for the ocean waves, Stormy Sky for the sky and Pumice Stone for shading. I also used some Liquid Applique, Crystal Snow loose glitter and Glossy Accents on the wave. I used Copic markers to color Ava. Paper is from Echo Park Summer Party paper pad and enamel dots. Hot Sunny Day!

Hi there!
Here's a little project I've recreated for my biggest fan on Facebook. lol I call her my biggest fan because although I have several loyal customers on FB, this particular fan always requests several of one card. So I figure, when she likes a card, she REALLY likes it! :) And she's a returning customer from time to time.
You can find the original for this card here. I've changed up the colors per request.
Click on the images for a closer look!
Here's a peek at the inside:
Here's a closeup of the image:
I used Hot Sunny Day from Karleigh Sue and colored it with Copic markers and Stickles Glitter Glue in Crystal on the 'salt' lining the margarita glass. I used some torn Kraft card stock to create the 'sand' beneath her chair. The dies are from Top Dog Dies and they've closed their little shop! :( I dabbed some glue and sprinkled Crystal Snow loose glitter along the edges of  torn blue card stock I used to create the 'ocean' floor in the 'Kodak' frame and more torn torn Kraft card stock to create the 'sand' under the palm trees because we all know that when the sun hits the water and sand at a certain angle, it shimmers! :p lol I created the 'Kodak' frame from white card stock. lol I really didn't know how to word that! :p I inked everything with Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Vintage Photo and Faded Jeans.

I colored the image with Copic markers and American Crafts Galaxy Marker Medium Point in white.I then fussy cut the image and popped her up on some pop dots to make it look like she's floating above the water. I think it came out pretty good! lol What else am I gonna say? I made it! :p Of course, I'm getting my money's worth using the banner die from La La Land Crafts April kit. Ruff Day?

Here is my second project for this week's anything goes challenge at Inspiration Destination! Our second sponsor is Pattie's Creation. I chose to play with this adorable dog image!
Click on the images for a closer look!
I created the background paper with some stamps I own.
Here's a closer look at the image. I colored the sky with grey low lying clouds but they didn't photograph very well.
Here's a peek at the inside of the card.
I used In the Dog House Again and colored the image with Copic markers and American Crafts Galaxy Marker Medium Point in white. The red dog bones and paw print ribbon are from my stash. I created the background paper using A Dog's Life from Raisin Boat and I also used a second stamp set called Puppy Love to stamp and fussy cut a fire hydrant and use it as an embellishment. I used a Fiskars Circles Template to cut out the circles.
