Memories of You

Hey, all! Here's my DT project for this week's Challenge #330 - Anything But a Card at My Time to Craft Challenge Blog.  This is an old mason jar I found in my stash of stuff! lol It was already painted and roughed up. Heaven knows when I had the thought to give it a try before and I sure wish I'd thought to take  picture of it before I added all the doodads! Such is life! I'm always a dollar short and a day late with my ideas! Ha!
I purchased some pins for some beads I had and put all of them in a super safe place cause I was not ever able to find them to get my pins started for this project but you surely get the idea. I added some stuffing under an old hankie to create the 'pin cushion' portion of the jar. The flower ribbon is from Hobby Lobby. The lace ribbon is from Michael's as are the rhinestones and pearl beads that line the lid. The large button on the lid is actually a brad that came with the same set as the label I wrapped around the jar. I have had the set forever and a day and for the life of me, I cannot find the package it came in so I cannot tell you who the product is from! I hate that! Ugh! You know I'll find it another day when I'm looking for something else! Ugh! To. Be. Organized! Would be such a dream come true! lol The hankie and beads I put in a safe place are actually part of my inheritance from my mother. I thought they would go nicely with the 'Memories of You' label. :) I also put all the buttons I inherited from her inside the jar. I inherited the jar of buttons back in the early to mid 1980s. Can you believe that!?! It was actually a large plastic bag and not a jar but I've used many over the years and now, all that are left, fit nicely into this jar. :)

Eeek!

Here's a really quick card I made! lol I'm loving this single layer card idea! I'd love it better if I colored really well but it is what it is! This is an image from Bloobel. It's called Don't Be Scared and I've colored it with Copic markers. The sentiment is from a stamp set called Scary Voices at Raisin Boat. I fell in love with the image the minute I saw it! It so reminded me of my children... when they were younger... cause now, they're 30 and 28 but this reminded me of them when they were like 6 and 4. I had to have the image! On the inside, I added "Mother's coming over!" lol Because, they don't live at home. I don't see my daughter because she's bipolar and decided I was and am a wretched mother and don't deserve her in my life. But my son is very close to me and I plan to send it to him. In preparation to a visit from me... because his apartment is... indescribable! lol Last time I visited him, I tripped over some pillows and fell so since then, he's constantly telling me to be sure and tell him I'm coming over so he can pick up. :D lol Otherwise. He. Won't!

Write Me a Letter!

Here's a little project I made for a pen pal. I hope she likes it! We're both huge fans of country living and chickens, although I went with cows! But it's country living! lol So I hope it is a huge hit with her. It's a letter writing kit from The Cutting Cafe. Check it out here. There is a video that goes along with it and you can view that here.
Click on the images for a closer look!
Don't you love the kisser on that cow!?! lol I couldn't STOP myself! :p I even gave her eyelashes! Ha!

I added some stationary that comes with the Let's Write a Letter - Printable Stamp Set at The Cutting Cafe and added a couple of A2 cards that fit so nicely in the pockets. The banner and fence die cuts and cow and sentiment rubber stamps are from La-La Land Crafts April 2016 Kit. The sunflower is a rubber stamp I've had since 2006 and for the life of me, I couldn't tell you who it's from! I unmounted it and at the time, thought I'd always remember who the maker was! Ugh! It's a lie I continue to tell myself to this very day! lol I colored the cow and the sunflower with Copic markers. I added brown Liquid Applique to the center of the flower and then dabbed it with some brown chalks to make it darker. The burlap ribbon is from Michael's. Patterned card stock is from The Paper Studio at Hobby Lobby called Farm Fresh. I think I'll make a couple more for some other pen pals! lol It was quick and easy to put together. I love how it came out! :)

Be Happy!

Crafty Sentiments Designs is having a challenge on Facebook and handing out this freebie for those who don't have a CSD image. Awesome! I had to grab it too cause it's just too cute!
Click on the images for a closer look!
I've stuck with the single layer design I discovered lately and am having way too much fun with it! :) The image is Patsy and Gizmo - Fun Time. I've colored the image with Copic markers. I used my trusty Fiskars Circle Template to create the circle around the image. This is my first attempt at coloring my own clouds with Copic markers. I'm so intimidated by blue skies and water scenes! The sentiment is from Stampin' Up.

Missing You

Happy Sunday Morning!
I was recently introduced to single layer cards. What fun! I totally fell in love with the ease of it! Ssooo... I've gone completely bonkers with it! lol
First... let me tell you... I'd seen these before... but I didn't think I had what it takes to make one of these because the focus is the coloring. I'm still a beginner with my coloring so I feel I need to add a layout and paper and embellishments to make my cards pretty. There have been a few images that I've colored and afterwards, I was like, "WOW!" lol But that's not happened often. So anyway, I just like the way these came out and... gosh! I hope adding stuff like Stickles and glitter doesn't make them a one layer card!
Here's a closeup of the image:
This is Wind in My Hair by A Day for Daisies. I've colored the image with Copic markers and Liquid Pearls in Buttercup, Petal Pink, Baby Blue, White Opal and Platinum Pearl. Sentiment is from Stampin' Up.

This is my project I made for a friend of mine who loves everything Halloween. I like Halloween but my friend, Ana, said, "Get out of the way cause here I come!" lol She starts decorating her home for Halloween about mid September and always has some of the funnest Halloween parties! She's a devout Catholic and a Christian and I always am bothered by the fact that she gets judged so harshly for celebrating Halloween by folks deeming themselves as Christians. But, truly, if they were Christians, they'd have no business judging her. That's how I see it. I love her. She's a good person, very loving and generous to those less fortunate than herself and always willing to jump in and get her hands dirty when folks are needing help.
So when I saw this image, I immediately thought of making her something for her home decor. I hope she loves it as much as I loved making it for her!
