Happy Spring!

My project for Bloobel's March 2016 Progressive Challenge. I've posted this on FB in the group's album. This was also my day 3 coloring for The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge.
Here's the card before I added the sentiment. I was wanting to add one that read "Happy Spring" but for the life of me, I could not remember where I put it! Ugh! Such is the story of my life these days. :\
I am using Easter Parade Judy from Bloobel. I've colored the image with Copic markers, gold gel pen, American Crafts Galaxy Markers, Liquid Pearls in Buttercup and Stickles Glitter Glue in Crystal. The flowers are a hostess gift from Fun Stampers Journey. I used a daisy punch from Michael's Recollections line. The oval die cut is from Darice. Pattern paper is from Echo Park Petticoats & Pinstripes. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up. All plain card stock is from my stash.
I'd like to enter my card into these challenges:

Be Your Own Hero

Hiya, bloggers!
Here's a little something I put together for the Stamping Bella Bellarific Friday Sketch. I'll have to be honest with you. I'm not sure what I am doing! Ha! I did color the image for The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge last weekend. Then I wanted to add this to the sketch challenge at the SB blog. I got really confused when there was a note about emailing my entry but then I saw other entries using the linky so here I am. lol
So, here's the sketch:
And here's my take on it:
This is Tiny Townie Hayley the Hero colored with Copic markers. My first time ever to color in a shadow behind the image! Talk about nerve-wrecking! Ha! I used a Cuttlebug Stars A2 embossing folder. All card stock, buttons and twine are from my stash. This stamp comes with a sentiment that reads 'Be your own hero'. My intention was and I actually did die cut a circle to stamp with the sentiment and place it where the buttons landed but in the time it took me to measure and cut... I lost the sentiment! I looked every which way for it too! I hope I did not toss it in the trash when I was throwing scraps... although... truth be told... I did look in there as well. Ugh! Drove myself almost nuts looking for it so I finally had to settle on the buttons. Don't you just hate it when things like that happen?
Anywho, I love how cheerful and bright it came out. In addition to the SB sketch challenge, I'd like to enter it into these challenges:

30 Day Coloring Challenge!!

I may have bitten off more than I can chew! But that's how I roll most days so nothing new! Ha!
I'm participating in Kathy Racoosin's “The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge”! I don't know that I can do it... but I sure am gonna give it a try! If anything, I'll get some good practice getting in some coloring I'm uncomfortable with like coloring whites and creating textures. My fear of whites makes me avoid coloring winter scenes and snow-people. Another reason most of my chickens are brown! :-p I also thought what a great way to use all of my awesome rubber stamps I don't ever get to use! And then finally... it'll kinda force me to blog more often. Something I've struggled with since day one. I really thought I'd be able to blog daily when I started this endeavor but I've been surprised at how often life interferes with that! Bummer, right! :)
So anyway, Happy Sunday morning, crafty peeps!  I've been thinking about running off to McD's to get one of those awful sausage egg cheese McGriddle and a mocha frappe! Not sure why I'm still sitting here! Ha! Just wanted to share this little card I made for my sister who lives across the street. My sister, Eva, and I have breakfast every Saturday morning to catch up with each other because, despite being relatively, pun intended, close and living across the street from each other, we rarely see each other! Isn't that crazy?
Funny thing, Eva is, I think, six years my senior and growing up, she was a nightmare of a sister! She was the baby of the family until I came along and, rightfully so, resented me to no end! Stories I've heard growing up she was always trying to get people who came to visit to take me home with them! Ha! Then, she was an awful tattler! I got so many spankings when I was young because of her. I was ssooo glad she married and left the home when I was 12! lol
Eva informed me her husband had a colonoscopy on Wednesday and they've discovered a growth that appears cancerous. He has dementia so he's all forgotten about it but my sister is carrying that entire burden all alone. His daughters immediately told her to take him to Houston but did not offer help. I'm baffled at people's insistence to offer advice or suggestions at a time like this and not just jump in and do something. Speaking as someone who's been through something like this, not that my cancer is life-threatening in that I'm bedridden but I suffer from fatigue caused by the oral chemo like you wouldn't believe! Peep who visit me CLEARLY can see that and will hear me say I cannot get about to clean like I normally do with my knee injury on top of the fatigue and, yet, no one ever offers to help! Once I've completely recovered from my knee injury, if I hear of someone going through difficult times, the first thing I am doing is showing up at their house with cleaning supplies WITHOUT offering to help!  lol Been there, done that!
Got off the track, sorry about that! lol So as I wrote, I am participating in the 30 day coloring challenge and this is the result of the fourth day of coloring. I had my sister in mind when I saw this stamp I won years ago... back in 2014 to be exact... and used for the very first time yesterday! For shame, for shame! lol
My very pregnant daughter, Nina, came over last night after her second baby shower and she hadn't seen my coloring in forever and a day. She was mighty impressed!  By the way, Nina is fixing to burst! lol After the two baby showers, she tells me all that is left to purchase, for now anyway, is the Owlet baby monitoring system and a Medela breast pumping package. I'm getting her the Owlet baby monitoring system and my local non-crafting bestest friend, Ana, has offered to purchase her something she needs so I'm gonna just say she didn't get the Medela, or something similar to it, breast pumping package but she should get her whatever she'd like because at this point, it's no longer about what she NEEDS but rather what she WANTS. She's made out like a bandit after the two showers! She's lots of friends who've had babies recently and gifted her their overabundance of gifts as well. Ana and I go back years! The only bad thing I can say about her is that she doesn't craft! lol I may end up getting Nina that breast pumping system anyway. Curses! The downside of being a grandmother! lol Her due date is March 17th and as you can well imagine, I'm bursting from excitement! My very first grandbaby! At 55, my granddaughter decided I was old enough to be a grandmother! Ha! I don't think I'm old enough but what can I do about that now!
Once again! I've gotten off track! Here's my day four coloring project. I quickly made it into a card because it was super easy to turn it into a one layer card. Awesome! lol
And because, I no longer know if my eye vision is blurry or I've taken a blurry picture, here's another shot:
This rubber stamp is from Wags 'n Whiskers Love You Sis. The sentiment is from Look for Rainbows at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I've colored the image with Copic markers. I usually use chalks to create the clouds but I am becoming a brave girl now and using Copic markers more often but I still regularly continue to use a cloud template I found online from Bev Rochester of All the Things I Love. I'll be honest. I didn't watch the video. I kinda just winged it but I do use her template. I've found it to be very handy! :) I also used a tutorial I found at Some Odd Girl for making the denim look worn on the dress and jacket. I thought these came out pretty good for a first attempt. What do you think?
I'm rather pleased with the final outcome so I've got to share this in a few challenges! I hope I can find some! lol
I'd like to enter my finished card with these challenges:
