613 Avenue Create October Challenge - Final Week!

Hi! Here again to remind everyone this is the last week of 613 Avenue Create October challenge! The theme is always anything goes and this month's twist is favorite drink.

I had way too much fun with this month's optional twist and I am so sad to see it end!! LoL I am a HUGE fan of coffee so I went nuts with it!

This is a digital stamp from Twistoon formerly known as Bloobel Stamps. She's got such fun images! This is Just One Coffee that was available when she had the Bloobel store. Image is colored with Copic markers. Sentiment is from a digital stamp set at From the Heart Stamps with Faith Skrdla. The enamel dots are from Your Next Stamp. I used an EK success corner punch and then doodled some lines in the corners to add a little interest.

This image reminds me of Monday mornings when I use to have to go into the office before COVID. That's how I think I looked and felt carrying my coffee and running away from employees hounding me for answers to disasters that happened over the weekend!! LoL

Thanksgiving Thankful

Here is my first Thanksgiving card that grew on me overnight. LoL I meant to add it to last night's post; however, I did not upload it and it was late and I was just being lazy! I did not want to get up and go get my phone, that BTW was charging, to upload the picture. So I thought I would wait till today and here we are! :)

This is Pumpkin Spice Curvy Girl from Stamping Bella. This was my first attempt at changing the layout of the stamp and creating a background scene using this stamp. The pumpkins are jack-o-lanterns and I wanted plain pumpkins so I wiped their faces clean with a baby wipe. This did not work all the way through as I had hoped it would, but I thought I would give it a go and see what I came out with. Entire image is colored with Copic markers. I paper pieced her dress and the pattern paper is from Echo Park A Perfect Autumn. I dotted the buttons on her shirt masquerading as a dress (LoL) with Liquid Pearls in Orange Blossom by Wendy Vecchi. The sentiment comes from another Stamping Bella stamp set called Teeny Tiny Townie with a Pumpkin Pie. The scattered leaves are from Art Impressions Halloween Slimline Set. The leaves on that set are proving to be very handy! :) The cobblestone pathway is from My Favorite Things SY On Solid Ground. The banner die cut is from Amazon. Enamel dots are from Your Next Stamp. I used double sided tape and micro adhesive dots to secure everything and Tsukineko Memento Dye Ink Pad-Tuxedo to stamp the image with a Copic multi-liner to re-connect some lines that did disappear with the baby wipe on the pumpkin images. I bought some awesome Gina K Masking Magic Sheets back in December of last year on a whim, and, you know what? They ARE magic! :D

Thankful

Started on my Thanksgiving cards and am having such a time of it! I have made eight and thrown them all out. I was not happy with them at all! I made one last night and when I was finished, I was thinking of tossing it. I did not. It grew on me overnight. LoL I made this one tonight and, again, I am not too happy with it, but I think I will go with it and stop being so critical of myself. Maybe by tomorrow morning it will have grown on me as well! LoL

This is Pumpkin Spice Curvy Girl from Stamping Bella. I added the background scene and made some adjustments to the stamp. The pumpkins are jack-o-lanterns and I did not want them to have faces. I wanted plain pumpkins. I took liberties with my stamp! I hope she doesn't feel violated! LoL Entire image is colored with Copic markers. I did paper piece her dress and the pattern paper is from Carta Bella Fall BreakI dotted the buttons on her shirt masquerading as a dress (LoL) with Liquid Pearls in Orange Blossom by Wendy Vecchi. The sentiment comes from another Stamping Bella stamp set called Teeny Tiny Townie with a Pumpkin Pie. The banner die cut is from Amazon. Enamel dots are from Your Next Stamp. I used double sided tape and micro adhesive dots to secure everything. I used Tsukineko Memento Dye Ink Pad-Tuxedo to stamp the image and a Copic multi-liner to re-connect some of the leaves on the pumpkin images. Finally started using my Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp Platform I purchased in January 2019! I had placed it somewhere that made it super easy to forget about it, but getting braver with my backgrounds and sentiments made me pull it out and put it where I could easily get to it when I need help. Which, BTW, is A LOT! LoL

I also want to follow up on the updated card for my grandson that I wrote about on this post. I added the bow tie and heart to match his onesie. LoL

Identical now, right?!? LoL My daughter got a big kick out of it.
I would like to play along with these challenges using the first card:

613 Avenue Create Reminder for October Challenge

I am here with a quick invitation/reminder to come join us at 613 Avenue Create for the October Anything Goes with option of favorite drink challenge.

I had a heap of fun with the theme! I'm a HUGE fan of coffee! Preferably black... you know what that means? I'm a psychopath. LoL I remember when I was on FB, I often saw a post about a study from the University of Innsbruck in Austria about just that and I thought it was hysterical! I would share it with family and friends. For fun, I looked it up today and found this most recent story about the same topic and study. LoL It's an interesting article! If you have time, read it! LoL

This is a digital stamp from Bugaboo Stamps and the image was called JJ Coffee To Go. Wouldn't it be awesome if when we asked for a large coffee to go, this is what we got! LoL But then, it wouldn't fit in the vehicle's coffee cup holder so there's that! I colored the image with Copic markers and a white gel pen. I used the gel pen on the eye glasses but you can barely see that, so not sure why I thought it was needed, but I did! Sentiment is from Technique Tuesday's discontinued stamp set called Sassy Coffee. All printed papers are from Echo Park Coffee and Friends. The to go cup and speech bubble are from two separate die cut sets from Amazon.

I was looking for a birthday card I made for a niece a few months back and I wanted to mail it this week. It was not in my 'safe' place because I remembered taking it out of there and thought I had placed it on my desk because I knew her birthday was coming up. Well... it's not there! So I spent all of yesterday looking here and there and I found this nifty corner punch I had forgotten all about. LoL It is from EK success.

The little coffee cups to go are part of the paper pack. I just fussy cut a few images from one of the pages to add here and there.

I Want Candy!

I made this card tonight for my grandson. I thought I had already finished all my Halloween cards until I started addressing them and kept coming up with one short. Please don't tell my daughter! She'll NEVER let me live that down! LoL :p

I saw this digital stamp while browsing for some fall images and, decided, I had to have it! I will show you underneath this image why I. Had. To. Have. It. And, yet, I still forgot to make it! I am not understanding how that happened!

This is a digital stamp from Whimsy Stamps called Bones and a clear stamp set called I Want Candy. I fussy cut everything and popped up the smaller candies with Zot 3D clear glue dots.

I absolutely HAD to get this stamp set because the very first thing I thought of when I saw it was this:
When I saw the digital, I came looking for the picture and I thought to add a red bow and heart to the digital stamp too but only just now remembered that! LoL I probably will though before I send it off but for now, here it is as is.

More Marshmallows!

I have a friend who I KNOW does not celebrate Halloween so I made this card for her specifically for Halloween and I did use the classic Halloween colors of black and orange. I think she will get the point. She's smart like that! LoL

I call her my imaginary friend because I have not ever met her. LoL I call all my online friends imaginary friends because I know they are there and no one ever sees them but I speak of them as if they are real people! LoL

This is Delicious Cocoa by The Paper Shelter. I colored the image with Copic markers. I added some of The Robin's Nest original Dew Drops in Halloween for a fun element and an EK Success corner punch to shape the card. Sentiment is from Doodle Pantry digital stamp set called Cocoa Ants.

Warmest Wishes

Made this card for a friend I am not sure celebrates Halloween, but I want to send her a Halloween card, so... played it safe and just used Halloween colors! Safe, right? LoL

This is Autumn Starter Kit from The Paper Shelter. So I am thinking she's sipping a pumpkin spice something or other and that is a pumpkin spice muffin! LoL I am here to tell you that I have not ever had anything pumpkin spice. I was planning to the fall of 2020, but COVID changed all that. Maybe next year. Not this year... I am trying hard to not get sick until after June of next year and then, if I am meant to have COVID, so be it. But for now, I have a very important project that I will not finish until June and am playing it safe. Oops! Got off topic! The image is colored in Copic markers and I have used The Robin's Nest original Dew Drops in Halloween. Sentiment is from Doodle Pantry digital stamp set called Cocoa Ants. I trimmed the corners with an EK Success corner punch.

613 Avenue Create October Challenge Reminder

Me, here again with a friendly reminder about the October challenge Anything Goes with option favorite drink going on at 613 Avenue Create!

My favorite drink is coffee so I went a little crazy with ideas for this challenge, but had to rein it in because there are only 31 days this month AND it's Halloween, then downhill to the holidays! So I am knee deep in stamps and paper scraps getting ready for that as well!!

This is a digital stamp from The Paper Shelter called So Casual, So Beautiful. Entire image is colored with Copic markers. I took my inspiration for the background from Marker Geek on YouTube. I watched a video by Elaine Hughes with Uptown Girl Wren With Her Wreath by Stamping Bella. Elaine is my hero! LoL :D The banner die cut is from Amazon and sentiment comes from an unknown stamp set, meaning original packaging tore, I stuck it in a plastic sleeve and did not write down the company name because I knew I would remember it forever. ;-> You know how that goes!

Rub-a-Dub-Dub

Made this for my grandson who loves to take baths. When I saw this image, it reminded me of how he looks at me when I tell him it is time to get out of the tub. LoL

I also have a funny story regarding a bear with him. When he was just under a year old, I was changing his diaper on the changing table and he was holding a teddy bear and moving him around like if the bear was an air plane. He very quietly said "Gammy". Since his birth, I have placed his hand on his chest and said "Hendrix" and then I put his hand on my chest and said "Gammy" in the hopes he someday would call me Gammy. So when I heard him say "Gammy" so quietly and clearly, you can imagine how excited I was! I replied excitedly, "Yes, Hendrix, I am Gammy!" He looks at me very calmly, holding the bear in his right hand, reaches his right arm out over the edge of the changing table and drops the bear. Then clasps his hands and proceeds to just stare at me. LoL I guess he did not care for my excitement at that moment. What is a Gammy to do? LoL

This is a digital stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil called In the Bath. Papers are surely discontinued from Scenic Route. I purchased them from another crafter back in 2010. Banners are die cuts from Amazon. Enamel dots are from Your Next Stamp. I am aging my products because the little metal "cute" embellishment is from back, I want to say like 2005, I think, when these staples were all the rage. I had about three of these left and now I am down to TWO! I myself am pretty excited about that! Ribbon, plastic bear and yellow safety pins are from my stash. I colored the image with Copic markers and added flecks of brown, tan and white gel pens on the bear to give him some dimension. You tell me, did it work? ;) By the way, I add links so that if you express interest on any of the items I used, you can find them for yourself. I do not get any type of compensation for these links. It is just something I do for anyone who takes the time to read my blog. Like I said, in case you are interested in any of the products I have used that may still be available. It is one of my biggest pet peeves to visit a blog and see the cutest image or a product or technique and then there's no explanation on how to do it yourself or where you might get the item. If I want to know more, I am stuck and out of luck. I share what I know or have purchased freely... so that's just a little FYI for you. :)

613 Avenue Create October Challenge Reminder!

Here I am with a quick reminder about the current Anything Goes Challenge with optional favorite drink at 613 Avenue Create!

This is a digital stamp from Power Poppy called Get Wool Soon. Image is colored with Copic markers and a silver and white gel pen. Ribbon is from Michael's Dollar Bin years ago. Pattern paper is from Echo Park Coffee and Friends and has been discontinued; however, I found it on Amazon.

Give Thanks!

Hey, y'all! LoL :)

I have to share my latest make. I have trouble with single images with no background. You'd think I would be OK with them, because I have so many. LoL But that is one reason I go crazy with papers and embellishments. Because I think the image is just so lonely standing there with nothing behind it. So I try creating scenes with die cuts or I go crazy with papers and embellies. Which ever suits my mood at the moment.

But I discovered something awesome recently. My fabulous discovery actually came about because I signed up for the newsletter at Stamping Bella. I love me my Stamping Bella stamps! <3 <3 <3 I truly do! They have videos showing how to color some of the images. So I followed one of the videos to YouTube and discovered there were a plethora of videos! Yay! Also, color me blind, I discovered these are all from Marker Geek! If I knew her real name, I would tell you that too, but I think I may be looking too hard because I have not been able to find it yet. Soon as I do, I will tell you! I am not very observant either so I do not know if each newsletter is from the same artist. I will have to pay attention going forward. I want to give credit where credit is due. But I subscribed to the Marker Geek channel and that is where I have been viewing my "schooling" videos.

So I have been studying the ones that show how to color backgrounds. I think I am getting it. Here is my second attempt. My first attempt is EMBARRASSING! Really!! So I won't even show it to you! I showed it to my BFF and she thinks it is just as fabulous but... there's a reason she's my BFF! ;) LoL

First, I used an old loved stamp set. I cannot remember the artist and unfortunately, years ago, the original packaging got ripped and I had placed the stamps onto another clear packaging and not labeling it because I knew I would remember it forever and ever. LoL I only remember Hannah. But if you've been crafting as long as I have, maybe you know who I am talking about and can enlighten me if you care to.

So, anyway, this is an old very loved stamp set. Of course, the entire thing is colored with Copic markers. The tree to the left and the trees in the background were something I picked up from watching the videos. Yay! Also, I have in the past, always had a streaky blue-ish sky because, as it turns out, I have been doing it ALL WRONG! I have been lightly flicking my marker because in all my years of coloring, I have heard the importance of flicking. That's not what is happening on these Marker Geek videos! So I followed how to color the sky and grass area like in the video and look at what I did! LOL :D I did stamp in my leaves and the pumpkins and apples. I tried leaving it blank but I just couldn't do it! Really! I. Could. Not. I then, also thought about adding mountains but I thought I was outgrowing my britches! Cause to be honest, I was gonna just wing it. I have not seen a video of that. I just thought all of a sudden that I knew how to do it. But I had already colored so much and did not want to ruin what I had done so I forced myself to STOP! Teehee!

After all this work, I think I would like to enter it into a couple of challenges:

613 Avenue Create Anything Goes October Challenge

Hi!

Yahoo! Here I am designing for 613 Avenue Create! It's been awhile since I did this and I am excited to be able to get my crafting pants back on with such a great group of gals!

This is my first project and I am super excited, both, for being part of the team and because of the challenge theme! It is Anything Goes, as it always is, with the optional theme, your favorite drink.

What a dilemma that was for me! My head was bursting with ideas! I had to force myself to stop after two. LoL Seriously. I. Had. To.

This is Mo's Digital Pencil Coffee colored with Copic markers. Both sentiments and coffee bean border are from Technique Tuesday Sassy Coffee stamp set and has been discontinued. The enamel dots are from Your Next Stamp. This awesome coffee bean paper was a free digital paper and was available at Create with TLC when she offered free images. I cannot find her now and sure wish I could! Anyway, isn't it awesome?!? I did find this page that offers free coffee printables and under the heading Coffee Free Printables: Earthy, number 12 (about halfway down the page) is a print of coffee beans with a measuring cup and I saved it because I think it can work in a pinch! LoL Coffee beans are smaller too. Also, Divinity Designs LLC has a coffee paper pad called Latte Love! Just an FYI!

This is my second card and I used the September 2017 La-La Land Crafts monthly kit. Coffee word die set, Coffee Mug Marcie and the two smaller mugs were part of the set and now available individually at La-La Land Crafts. The to-go cup and wrapper, heart cut-out and hearts are from a Kraft die cut set at Amazon and banner is from another Amazon die cut set, no longer available. Image is colored with Copic markers and her vest and head band are paper pieced. Pattern papers are from Echo Park Coffee & Friends pad set and is still available at Amazon, as of this date. The exterior sentiment and interior coffee bean borders are from the Technique Tuesday Sassy Coffee stamp set referenced above. The tiny coffee mug on the card front and the unknown brandname stamped mug on the interior are from my stash. Sentiment on the interior of the card is from the Coffee Mug Marcie referenced above.
I would like to admit my projects into the following three challenges:
Thanks so much for stopping by, but now go join in on the fun at 613 Acenue Create!!
