Crop Bag - Really!

 Hi all,

I have not posted much this year. First, I had cataract surgery and developed an infection so I have been blind as a bat! Things are clearing up and I am seeing much better than I was last year; however, I still have to use a magnifying glass for the fine print. Ugh!

I have been busy putting this crop bag together because coloring is not involved. With each passing day, I discovered I was missing an item. So finally, yesterday, Amazon delivered the last of the missing items and this morning, bright and early, I started working on finishing up this month long project. I so love how it came out; however, it was a huge nightmare!

First, this is from a TWO-PART tutorial by Sascha K Creations for Graphic 45. Here are the linsk to the videos if you are interested:

Sascha used the G45 Courture paper collection and I was all gung ho for the project until I realized that I had purchased the 8X8 paper pad. Not to be deterred, I knew I had this fabulous Carta Bella En Vogue paper collection and went ahead full steam, not taking into consideration that CB only offers one page of each design. First thing I discovered after cutting the chipboard, the clasp I wanted to use was broken. So I had to order that. This bag is covered with faux leather PAPER not to be confused with just plain faux leather because that is what added to my roller coaster ride. Then, I thought I had all the ribbons necessary only to discover, I was inches short of each type. Ugh! Ordering the paper took so much longer than I thought it would. The faux leather arrived in no time at all! I had to sit on my hands while waiting for what I really needed.

I did have a little mishap before discovering all the missing supplies. The measurements for the pull out tray were incorrect until I pointed that out to them, so I ended up wtih two trays. The last image is the extra tray. I did use ALMOST the entire paper collection which is a first for me! I was left with two scraps of 6X12 of two pages from the collection and some stickers. I will have to find use for those!

I started out using Art Glitter glue and had to switch over to Aleene's Tacky Glue only to end up using red tape. I did run out of 12X12 sheets before I could finish the inside flap, but it is on the inside, so I do not think it is the end of the world. I did not cut out the curves on the top of the bag. Only time will tell if I will regret that. Had a bit of a nightmare with the side pockets. I started with magnets as was instructed on the tutorial only to discover these would not grab so I added some hook and loop dots from Amazon that are just not wanting to stick! I added red tape to these as well and I am letting this cure overnight in hopes that I can close the side pockets then. I edged all the cut papers with Tim Holtz distress ink pad in Black Soot.

I absolutely LOVE this paper collection. It's perfect for the girly girl in me.

When I saw this crop bag, I thought that is just what I need for my crop parties...

in the livingroom! I work from home and last year, I decided to move my work station to my craftroom and have been regretting it since then. So I carry things back and forth between my craftroom and dining table. What's a girl to do? I like the massive dining table to work on but I often find I forgot something in the craftroom so there's lots of going back and forth. I thought this bag would come in handy. We shall find out if that was a good idea as well! LoL I hope it works out.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look!
